Pensacola, FL
I have lived there during flight school and I can agree with him. Monterey, CA was also cold for me because of the mist that seemed persistent (not to mention having to wear winter coats on the 4th of July). Down here where I live and Spots is coming to...I think there is maybe 1 week total that you have to wear a jacket and long pants a year (after you have become acclimated). Love the winter...hot as hades though sometimes in the summer...but then again lived many other places that were hot or hotter in the summer....

As a Pensacola native that lives in VA, absolutely true. I've pulled ice off my eyelashes just north of Pensacola.

Also, here on the beach for a week now.

Coldest i’ve ever been in my life was northern Iowa. Passing through, staying at an Airbnb. Got up early to get the car packed in -14 weather with an impossibly lower windchill and my nose felt like little ice daggers occupied it. And to your point, the liquid around my eyes was getting stiff and painful.

Got back to colorado in 30 degree weather (sun was out) and I’m wearing shorts and flip flops, feeling like a heat wave was setting in while slipping on ice near the curb.

South Florida is nice.

In 7 years living in Santa Rosa Beach I never remember feeling really cold. I agree there were days the humidity cold went right through what I was wearing but it never overwhelmed me.

Jones is right about Colorado winters are full of sun. However, there are those spells that freeze your lungs it’s so damn cold. Wait a week and you should be good again. You breath in and it’s just feels like your nostrils are burning and no oxygen is making it into your lungs and when it does it burns.

But winters in Colorado used to be bearable. Not anymore. Haha, it’s age.

I have a similar experience at Lake Okeechobee one January. Was there fishing a Bassmaster tournament. Practiced three days and got absolutely sunburned to death. The day before the tournament started, a cold front came in and put it in the low 30's. I almost froze to death there first day.

Congrats on the move Spots. I knew you had been planning it for quite awhile, must be pretty exciting to see it come to fruition.

Yea, I now have 3 completely empty rooms in my house. Its is started to feel reel. And making me a tad nervous as well. My wife and I have never moved away. Excited nervousness

This is the main problem with Georgia winters now. It seems every one of them is not dark, cloudy/rainy and cold. We got weeks at a time with no sun. Working outside in that just broke me. I hate to admit it but it did. Very few just clear, cold days.

Lanier, did you register your rig for poker run this weekend?

I have to get the boat on the water to try and burn some gas to lighten load for upcoming long haul/pull and only have Saturday.

Been seeing them come in all day today

LOL. No, Im gonna skip this one. I was out today for 4 hours. I am going to be out on a guide trip all day tomorrow. Not going any where close to the lake this weekend. Tomorrow will be hard enough out there

I just hope none of them kill each other this weekend like in years past.

Im not sure what you are riding in but Saturday will be fun for you

I saw those boats coming out of Flowery Branch Creek today two of them atleast. Just cruising them around

Impressive for sure....

I am obsessed with the Youtube videos of Haulover Inlet. If you never have, check out the Wavy boats page on Youtube. Thats a very dangerous plus but the boats coming through there are very bad arse

There’s a reason why I ‘summerize’ my boat. I’d much rather be fishing in Jan than July.

This one ran in a Nashville newspaper...

... it was just another twenty-something degree day.

(Noth'n special or out of place - there's just no water in July.)

I run the canoe all summer with my wife and the fishing dog on the Cahaba River. No wake boats and the idiot drivers. Get too hot? Stop on a shoal, drink beer, play with the dog. Love it.

Looking like this will be my new ride right here. Will finish up my guide trips here on Lanier next week. I have 4 days booked and will end my week with my boy Big Oz, past offensive lineman at Auburn 1992-1996.

After my trips next week, I will leave my bass boat at the dealer to sell for me. Im probably going to be riding in a Tidewater 24-10 Bay Max, Yamaha F300. Just need to get it on order

Saw your guys running around on the lake today. Just cruising around taking pictures from the helicopter.

Word is one of those will run 180mph. Would like to see that from a distance.

Cheaper to just have a SeaTow membership and a quality 4 stroke.

Wont need them for a 24-10 plus I am staying in shore. I really dont enjoy bottom fishing and probably wont make that journey out very often. Going to stick with a single 300hp.

That "F" series may be the best 4 stroke outboard ever built.

Looks nice deciding between bay boat and deep v center for my next boat.

Yeah the guy that owns those three is a ceo for an oil pipeline company. Has a helicopter to follow his boats. That center console I posted above has 6 seven marine engines. His yachts are yuuuge as well.
