I laid alot of blame on your shoulders. In hindsight, I'm starting to think you very well could've been what you were cracked up to be, but a certain person messed up your headspace. I still remember a beautiful deep pass that hit Duke Williams in stride against Louisville, but the TD was negated by a holding penalty...I expected to see more of that in future games, but it almost seemed like you got handcuffed since. Apologies again, and hope for all the best to you...

I still think he was a headcase, but his coaching certainly didn't help.

it appears the majority of malzahn QB's end up as head cases. they dont start out that way.

But really, they all looked and look like headcases on some level...even Nick Marshall in '14 didn't seem like the guy he was in the previous season. I mean, I'd still take Marshall right now over anyone else Gus has trotted out there, but even he seemed like he was slowly heading in the wrong direction...

We should have all been extremely concerned when Gus could not name a starting QB until deep into fall practice. This was a warning sign. By all accounts, and from what I saw of Stidham on tape, he should have been named the starter from day 1 of spring practice. This did not happen and we all now know why. He has been screwed up by this staff. I feel bad for him.

Stidham is going to be fine

He'll torch a few lesser teams, we'll feel better about ourselves, and then Gus will probably do something inexplicable with the game plan in Baton Rouge

You all know it's going to happen

Yeah, and we won't face another DL that good that would have him running scared for his life unless we play an NFL team.
The OL will improve as the season goes on as well. Seems like they always struggle at the beginning of the season only to finally gel and hit their stride around game 4.

Keep both RBs healthy at the same time and the running game will be fine against anybody. It's still ridiculous that we completely abandoned it this weekend when it was working well enough and the passing game so clearly wasn't happening. And never being down by more than one score, it's inexcusable to abandon the run game like that, even at the end.

The problem is that I really don't see that pass game improving enough to so anything against anybody with a pulse in the secondary. We have two QBs that are good enough, and a frick ton of raw talent at WR. The tools are there. But the playcalling, the WR coaching, and the overall passing scheme will all continued to tie our passing game down like an anchor around our neck.

What Nick Marshall and Sammie Coates were able to so against Bama in 2014 have become 100x more impressive in retrospect as the years go by and we continue to see how our passing game struggles at the most simple things.

I fully expect us to be 5-1 going to BR. I just hope I don't let that cloud my better judgement.

If memory serves, that pass was to Jason Smith. Not sure why they didn't throw to him more often, he can actually catch. But yes, JJ was complete shite on offense after that play.

Sean White needs to start or no chance to beat LSU, Georgia, Bama.
