Just to post some facts

1970s: 1972,1974
1980s: 1983,1986,1988,1989
1990s: 1993, 1997(I forgot)
2000: 2004, 2006
2010: 2010,2013,2017(10-4)
2020: not yet

Twice a decade or so.

And it probably never will be.

Way back in the 1910s we won a better percent, but only played 8-9 games.

With modern schedule of 3 patsies and 9 power league games, we need to win 10 more than we have.

Right now, we are a 5-7 win program.

I never thought I’d be excited about 9-4, but here we are.

Gus Lite hung his hat on having a high scoring offense. I do credit Arnold for not tossing a bundle of INTs in 2 losses, but he did take 10 sacks in one game. A legendarily bad performance.

The D isn't swiss cheese, but it's not dominating either. It's currently playing well enough for Auburn to get 7-8 wins, but if the offense doesn't produce, we're facing 6-6 again. Or worse.

My daughter graduated in May and suffered the worst stretch of Auburn Football any class at Auburn (in recent history) has suffered. She stormed the field for aTm. Seriously, A and freaking M, AU stormed the field. How embarrassing. Every game, she'd have to get to JHS hours before kickoff, to suffer thru ridiculous heart-breaking, bone-headed, head scratching Auburn Football. At least they had Bruce.

i graduated in 1982, the majority of my AU tenure was under Barfield, so i can relate

of course back then the entire coaching staff had a combined annual payroll of under $500k, we’re paying that much to Freezus every month

and even in that time period we won 8 games one season

This doesn't just apply to Freeze but I honestly don't know how some of these coaches look at themselves in the mirror knowing how much money they are stealing.

Imagine that hitting your account every month. Whoah.

With that kind of money coming in, one would think that one would want to succeed in order to not lose that kind of income.

Now, imagine that, succeed or fail, that kind of money will continue to hit your account every month.

Other than professional Pride, where is your motivation?

Averaged 8 wins in a 10-11 game schedule through most of history, which would be an equivalent of 10 wins in a 12 game schedule now. Revisionist history clouds people’s minds, but Gus greatly underachieved almost every year he was at Auburn.

Fine

When is the last time we won 7 games in a season?

7 cannot be that hard:

3 rent a wins
4 SEC/bowl game victories
6 horrible losses

Add Luke Fickle to one of those flavor of the month must have coaches that definitely walked around with a low swinging dick that we must have but looking horrible at the moment.
