People who hated Jacobs didnt know what all he did. They are just blue sky people who think there is some kind of magical AD floating around and is just jonesing to come to Auburn. LOL. There isnt
Just like a football coach. You fired one of the best thats ever been here. One who gave us some of the best moments. All so we could have 6 years of Brian Harsin and broken arse Hugh freeze. LOL.
Change just to change. Hope they are enjoying what they are getting with those decisions.

Jacobs was a complete clown who was put in the position by Lowder and his cronies. There was no doubt the guy was a complete moron - living in Auburn provided ample opportunity to arrive at my conclusion.
The guy went from athletic department fundraising (shooting fish in a barrel) to running the entire athletic program.
If I remember correctly, Tubs refused to report to Jacobs when he was promoted. So, they changed the reporting structure and he reported directly to the university president. That’s a pretty good indication of how his peers felt about him.
Complete clown.

He also ran David Marsh off. Jay Jacobs is a nice guy. I knew him as a student at AU when he was also a student. He was totally incompetent as AD. Just because he was better than Greene and depending on how Golesh turns out, Jacobs may be better than Cohen. But that is really setting the bar low.

Gus deserved to be fired even before he was at AU. Talk about a "Yes Man". That described Jay Jacobs' tenure as AU AD to a "T".

At least give Cohen a chance. You wanted Jay Jacob’s fired in 2012. He had been AD for 7 years at that point. Cohen had been at Auburn for a little over 3 years.

Not to mention we have 2 new coaches in the 2 money sports. No one has any clue where SP and Golesh will be in 5 years. Probably best to let it play out a little bit

The day we went to the second final four can you imagine how hot the temperature of our basketball program was.
Can you explain to me how we managed to parlay that into hiring a coach that pre-Bruce Auburn wouldn't have hired.
We really dont deserve nice things.

Bruce left 4 weeks before the first exhibition game. 6 weeks before the first game. Best case was interim tag of SP, I think.

Bruce left the first day of practice. I know why he left then.

Not as hot as you'd think. While I liked our roster in May-June it's not like we were stockpiling blue chippers. We had some preseason love but it was mostly based on Tahaad being an All-American

No no. Jacobs was totally incompetent.
Plus the coffers were always full when he was bringing in the bucks People let their emotions get to them.

Maybe Cohen will be good but that has nothing to do with how Jacobs did
