IMO, for games that don't matter 1st round picks sitting wouldn't bother me. If you aren't a guaranteed 1st round pick why wouldn't you being doing everything possible to move yourself up the board?

This is a ridiculous thread....

This kid has the opportunity to not only change his life but most likely his family's life. Not many people will ever have that opportunity. Sit out if you want....

It starts and ends with capitalism. If the market decides that these games are important, players have to play. If the market (NFL/Draft) decides the games don’t matter, it’s a unneeded risk that private owner (player) takes on without any benefit (potentially).

Sure I hope all these guys come back and play every game, because I love AU and want to win every game. However, I won’t fault them or the coaches for a second if they choose to cash in a winning lotto ticket.

So what you're saying is your personal lord and savior, Gus Malzahn, just can't get it done if he's missing an individual single player (or, alternatively SECCG-style, has an injured player)?

Unless everything is set up *perfectly* for ol' Gus, we can't expect him to win football games?

Just annoying. As I have said elsewhere, sort of like losing to Mississippi State on the road. Thats about UCF talent wise. We seemed slow, under prepared and under coached.

Lindsey saying they made no adjustments at halftime to is an invitation to get fired. Just a stupid thing to say. Truthful or not.

I’m not mad. But would be nice to not fall on our face to a severely inferior talented team. Gus was out coached. Again.

I didn't read any of this thread and I'm just pissed about everything football related from yesterday. I could have gotten over us getting embarrassed by a AAC team but the way the rest of the day played out made it all miserable.

Also, if this was an anomaly I could chalk it up to us just not being motivated because I can understand that, I certainly wasn't motivated. However, this is just another in a long line of big games where we have underwhelmed and gotten out coached.

Also also, it may not mean too much but we are still recruiting and trying to sway some of these big guys like Walker and the OL to come to AU we need all the positive buzz we can get and winning a game on a national stage is a lot better look than losing it.

The team clearly didn't show up yesterday. I can't say I blame them. Thoroughly unexciting.

It was a meaningless game that nobody gave a shite about.

So now we're in the wrong because we wanted to beat Central Florida?

People have some serious paranoia and trust issues with Gus. This game strengthens the argument that Gus is a roller coaster of a coach. He pretty much reverted back to the Clemson playbook. I've never seen a coach get more in the way of himself than Gus. We have Washington in 8 months in MBS and I have no idea which Gus we'll see. Could be the second half of the season Gus or the dumb frick Clemson and UCF Gus.

I'm not sure pissed is the right word. I am very disappointed in the showing. The effort was piss poor by our bunch. I know that isn't the game they wanted to be in....but damn, show some pride.

Don't worry... Gus's offense will be running like a finely-tuned machine around the 5th game of the season!

It'll be a sluggish start. Im worried about our RB situation if KJ goes pro. Gus hasn't developed other backs and not being able to run KJ 30+ times the past two games has resulted in two straight losses. We'll see what happens.

Because it's the way we lose under Gus. Auburn's losses this year have been games where we totally laid an egg, it wouldn't be so bad if we went out and played to our ability and just got beat by a better team, these losses are embarrassing. Clemson was terrible OL and QB play, LSU Gus shite the bed the second half, SEC championship was a debacle on both sides of the ball, and UCF came down to getting whipped on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball by an inferior team. I'm a competitor and you play to win no matter the circumstances so of course I'm pissed about another sloppy loss, the attitude of "I just cant figure out why some are so pissed off about us losing yesterday" is a losers mentality.

This mentality is why we’re a mediocre at best football program right now. Some games we look like were playing great, other games the guys look completely unprepared and not motivated at all. Every game matters, every down matters, all 60 minutes of a game matter.
