I expect Auburn to have the best LB Corp in the SEC

That’s so funny to say given our LB woes of the past 10 years or so...BUT
KJ Britt is a stud, voted 1st Team All-SEC by the coaches.
Owen Pappoe is a Freshman AA and will get bigger, faster and stronger
Zakoby McClain is a Hit-Stick and a playmaker.
Chandler Wooten is a solid contributor.
BUCK is considered a LB position too....and I expect Derick Hall to make a big leap in 2020, TD needs to stay healthy

I agree but they won't have as strong of a defensive line eating blockers in front of them.

I was just thinking about this. Do we have a decent idea of who our D-line is going to be?

The D-Line had plenty depth. I saw some future stars.
I think Truesdell, Coynis & Handy have big seasons. If Daquan Newkirk is finally healthy...look out. Big Kat is back and he had a quietly decent season.

It’s amazing how two people can watch the same thing and see something totally different

What’s your buzzkill take, then?

Here to say I agree with everything thirdlawson mentioned. I thought Hall was solid last year and clearly came along throughout the year earning the starting job by season end. Big Kat is hit or miss, but was our best pass rush throughout the season. Truesdell had a great season, and I expect Newkirk and Coynis to only get better. Plus we have no reason to doubt Garner or the dline. Constantly turn out good players who are willing to work hard and take some tough love.

Our starting tackles are average, there is zero proven depth and Moultry and Big Kat are major under achievers. Gonna need the young guys to step up big time

proven depth
This is phase gets thrown out all the time and it’s stupid.
This is college football in 2020... nobody has “proven depth”... it’s like y’all live in this little auburn bubble and miss the big picture.

Well that's simply not true. We had proven depth this year at DL and DB.
The big picture is every single player on our defensive line two deep is going to have to improve significantly. Truesdell has been fine in spots but when he's your most consistent returning player that has the potential to be a big problem.

How can you say that? How can we gauge how Newkirk will do? We don't know if Newkirk held his own when subbing in. It seems like he played quite a bit down the stretch, so maybe the D held it's own w/ Newkirk, Miller, and a little Handy thrown in?
Now behind them is a lot of younger guys probably even Freshmen, so we may be deep, but too early to tell how good or consistent they will be.
ANd after having 2 years of 2-3 future NFL type players on your line, it's not far fetched to say we will be not at that highest level we have been.

He certainly wasn't making big plays.

So when the defense started struggling?

Bro what? Big Kat was absolutely non existent this year. 6 tackles and 1.5 sacks?
A quietly decent season would be Nick Coe in 18' with 25 tackles and 7 sacks.

Unpopular opinion incoming. If you are rustled easy. Leave now. Brown wasn't as disruptive as NF was. Not saying he wasn't as good, just wasn't a gamechanger like NF was. If we have some guys on the DL that can hold their on on get an edge rusher, we could possibly be better on the front 7 next year. Come at me bros.

Holland was a great edge guy

Who was proven behind the starters?... we had young, talent guys... just like we do now.

You’re right Fairley was more dominant you’re way off thinking our front 7 will be better
