Josh McDaniels. Sure, it's a long for him to even come to the college ranks, but he makes roughly 1.5 million now.

Lets throw 4-5 mill his way and see what he thinks?

Or am I just dumb?

ETA: He's only 40 and seems to have a lot of energy. I bet college kids would love him.

He's likely to still be an NFL head coach. This seems a little more realistic.

If Auburn is going to fire Gus may as well swing for the fences.

Call every coach that you think may have an interest. Chip, Herman, anyone. McDaniels would be a great hire, IMO.

I've always thought McDaniels would be a great college coach. He'd be a solid hire.

I brought up McDaniel's name last week, and some jackass Denver fan on here assumed he wouldn't be a good college coach.

I'd still like to see our AD try and bring him here.

I would still like to at least try. People said the same thing about bringing Aranda here to be the DC. He was an excellent candidate, but many were skeptical he would leave Wisconsin. Then we saw him go to LSU, and we began to maybe realize we could've enticed him to come to Auburn.

Definitely. Kids who play Div I eventually want to be successful NFL players, and what is not better coaching experience than being with Belichick and winning 4 SB's?

Then we already need to have a quality coach already lined up.

I would take Chip. He was beating the brakes off people at Oregon and not slowing down. That's what we need to get our swag back. We're a doormat right now

I'm not sure he is my first choice but I think Bill O'Brien will be available after this year. As bad as the Texans look about now. The guy is a really good football coach but his stints in college seem a little stronger than his time in "The League".
