Why stop there? Why don't we just go and save Clemson and hire Dabo away from them? He has won a million games. He is more successful than Franklin. Who cares if he looks incompetent today, he will be hungry to prove everyone wrong! That's how this works, right?
I was going to post this next.
Don't stop. You are on a roll!!

I would absolutely take Dabo if he agreed to get on board with NIL. So would just about any other team in the SEC not named UGA, Bama, Texas etc.
Every coaching search we frick up hires because we over think it.
Sark was too much of a drunk
Kirby wanted too much control
Lane was too sleezy
It's worked out really well for us.
Summerall could end up awesome or he could end up the next Billy Napier.
Let's just make Lane the highest paid coach in the SEC and move along. We've endured enough pain. Money isn't an issue

Come on. Lets do better
Better? Better? Who in the hell out there would be better that would actually consider jumping into this dumpster fire? Seriously, I really would like to know.

Kirby wanted to coach the BCS championship, that was the sticking point.
He thought he had the job until he saw Gus was announced.

I've yet to hear any of them make the case for their candidate directly against Franklin. Which is telling.
"I think _____ will be better than Franklin because I suspect _________" is completely valid as an opinion, FWIW, but that's not what's happening here.

I think we should roll the dice on one of the following in no particular order:
- Sumrall
- Hartline
- Stein
- Grubb
- UGA’s DC
I am sure there are others that I’m leaving out, but we don’t have to go the retread route. Franklin definitely covered up a gang rape at Vandy and blew town. Hell no to Mullins, Gus 2.0, Lashlee or Urban.

I've never seen a very compelling argument for this. Most of the stuff I've seen from the saga centered more on the university/AD doing their own pseudo criminal investigation and arguably intimidating the rapists without counsel/process than any sort of cover up. Or Franklin calling the victim, which the DA/PSU/Vandy all said was unobjectionable - and as far as I know, the victim and her counsel never took issue with it either.
The idea that he was trying to cover it up seems counterintuitive considering the Defendants' side of the story is that the AD and university were out to get them from the jump

I'm not convinced that Kirby would have had the same success at AU as he has with UGA. He wouldn't have the same recruiting advantage being in the same state as Saban and still competing against UGA for Georgia recruits.
Plus, what's to say he doesn't move to Athens when Richt retired anyway.

The program wouldn’t have been a flaming dumpster full of baby diapers when he left though.

Strange he didn’t garner any attention from Cohen. Franklin went fast too. He definitely would have been a much better option then the Lea and Drink love being thrown out.

He was well trained by Saban in the ways of recruiting ($) and would have recruited very well at Auburn.

Why today though? Franklin been gone for a while. You been in a hole?

Our #1 candidate from the beginning is likely going to tell us to frick off in favor of someone else.

I had not seen the latest news. Makes sense. I didn't want Franklin but I'd take him over the damn interim coach. Good lord what the hell are we doing?

I guess it was Sumrall.
