Is 6 wins our ceiling or floor going through 2035?

Missouri, $10 million less than AU, says hello.
I don’t think this is true. From everything I’ve seen, their estimates are basically the same as ours. Both are in the $27-$30 Mil range. We are both somewhere in the 10-12 range in the SEC.

I don't agree with the "stop caring" portion of this post. Never, never forget where you came from. Stop watching? Well, TV is mostly free, not really. But going to the games? Yeah, that is a statement. But, you will be accused by the Corches of the fanbase of not supporting your team.
And, it sucks. I don't want to sabotage Golesh's recruiting by having a less than half empty stadium. But, at the same time, do I want to support the same PTB that frick up Auburn football time over time? It sucks.
frick it. They are paying. Let it be what it be. Hope for the best bros! Maybe wood guy and steel people will figure it out.
Remember, I was saying long ago, sell the damn uniform. Why we don't have 10 different advertisments on the uniform at this point allowing us to just fricking buy any player we want is beyond me. College football has been sold. Let's be ahead of the curve and snag some championships.

Their entire NIL for all sports is 31.7 million. 20 for football.

Monetize everything.
Ads on every piece of the uniform.
The helmet needs at least 4 main sponsors.
Think NASCAR jumpsuit for everybody.
No more short pants. Players get to sell ads on each knee pad.

The Athletic’s report has them at $27-$30 million for football this season.
.
The only reports I can find citing this number is for the 2024/2025 period. The Sideline estimates their 2026 NIL total spend across all sports to be more around $43M. We are at around $44M.

I don’t really disagree with the sentiment. shite sucks right now and it isn’t fun being a fan. I’m just of the opinion being a fan requires being a bit crazy. I ultimately don’t think boycotting games will do anything but ensure failure of any rebuild attempt. I think there are other ways to get Cohen gone that don’t sabotage Golesh. I’ll still be at all the home games. That’s just part of it. Whiskey helps.

This.
I’d be happier if they made football a fricking club sport. No scholarships. No NIL money. Just student athletes playing sports. I have no idea how we’ve allowed the NFL to use publicly funded institutions as their minor leagues. frick em.

Not going to this week.... can I still cry a little?

And in the current semi-pro state of college football, that may just be what Auburn is. We were mid to upper tier with the chance of extraordinary coaches and players elevating us to the top. (2004, 2010, 2013) With mercs and NIL, all teams are fixed according to money... and this is big money, not the little bit fan donations amount to. And in that world, we may be about a 5 to 7 win team in the SEC.
And what are we fans of? Auburn? This isn't Auburn. This is a booster-funded football squad. And will fans lose interest? How many are there for a game versus the social media opps and party? The world is a bizarre place these days.

I mean, our amount may be small, but I don't think that is universal. I wouldn't be surprised if the top SEC teams get $8-10M at least more from the fan donations than we donate.

Well, from at least the start of all the major changes up until this very moment in time this is not in question or up for debate.
Based on hard numbers (TV, stadium expansion, even raw attendance) interest is at a record high with no signs of slowing down.
We will always be fans on an Auburn team that Auburn coaches direct.
Of course, player allegiance will vary, just as it always has.

More money and more fans, broader audience for sure. But the interest is going to become more casual over time. I have experienced that personally as well as broadly in my circles.
At some point that starts affecting the product and raw numbers.

And how much is "fans" versus gamblers? That's a question for all sports, now.
Posted on 10/8/26 at 11:15 am to auburnnyc94
I'd say our fan engagement is obviously gone down some the last few years. However, I wouldn't say it is any different really than say Arkansas in any given year. We are just seeing the impact of having their results for an extended period of time. Obviously SEC is a bit of an outlier in these type things.

they have lost me. Not gonna stress about this crap anymore. Gonna spend more time doing something else that is more enjoyable in my life. Life is too short to watch this shite.

I never disagreed with that argument. Merely pointed out I doubted the claim they are spending $10M less than us and even that link shows that isn’t true. We are about $1.5M roughly above them, which is what all the other ones I’ve cited are showing as well.
