BS. The "idiot" governors were trying to keep people from heavily infected areas bringing that funk into beach towns. Most "beach towns" along the coast are small communities. Those residents (me being one) want tourists to stay the hell away right now.

If you want fresh air, get out in your damn yard and clean it up a bit.

I don’t want to use your “town.” I have my own food and cooler and I want to sit on the beach and social distance myself from everyone. But they closed beach access.

My yard and house are immaculate right now thanks to the virus

Re-read the quote from the article. It’s clearly says 245

Your ridiculous claim was that there are an additional 175 non Corona deaths of the 250 which is in no way reported.

Here use the full quote from an article you sourced with a headline "NYC undercounts Corona virus deaths" so stop being disingenuous

"As of Monday afternoon, 2,738 New York City residents have died from ‘confirmed’ cases of COVID-19, according to the city Department of Health. That’s an average of 245 a day since the previous Monday.
But another 200 city residents are now dying at home each day, compared to 20 to 25 such deaths before the pandemic, said Aja Worthy-Davis, a spokeswoman for the medical examiner’s office. And an untold number of them are unconfirmed.

CorchJay

Still batting an impressive 0/4 despite your multiple attempts

quote:

That doesn't change the fact that for months they were the lowest or among the lowest

This isn't even a good attempt at moving the goalposts. Sweden has had the highest death rate of the Scandanavian countries for over a month. In fact, Finland has always had a lower death rate than Sweden.
You made your claim last week when a quick google search proved it wrong. I agree though if you go back to say July of 2019, the US & Sweden both have a world's best 0 confirmed Coronavirus deaths

quote:

how you interpret the information.

Not sure how you want people to interpret your specific claims, of which no line you provided supported

1- You claimed Fox Corp is owned by Disney.

2- You claimed NYC had 250 home deaths per day of which a maximum of 75 were Corona related

3- You claimed 830,000 suicides were predicted this year alone if closures continue

4- You claimed last week that Sweden had the lowest death rate in Europe & compared to neighbors (never indicated you'd have to go back to 2019)

I wonder if she will announce there won't be an extension of the stay at home order, or do we move towards something resembling "Phase 2" of the federal government's guidelines immediately?

Will be interesting.

My wife literally said out loud "She can't be serious" the first time she heard her talk. She sounds exactly what Hollywood thinks an Alabama gentry accent should be

The mayor here in Nashville is a real piece of work... 4 weeks ago he announced there would be “substantial’ tax increases for all Nashville residents on the same day he shut the city down... then today he states Nashville will remain closed even tho the governor is opening things back up next week.

This arse-hat is going to raise all our taxes but won’t let anyone go to work

I am on your side, but she just said the stay at home order continues until April 30 and that we can't reopen until we get better at testing and the daily new cases need to trend downwards "more than they are" for 10-14 days before she will make the decision to open things up.

Dang.

I'm all for talk of reopening and looking at things but I think I'm with meemaw here. Let's see the trend continue for a little bit longer. Phase 2 can start a couple days into May.

Damn meemaw.

Alabama can't even start the phase until April 30. But she didn't even say if the order would be lifted

What a joke

SO what else is new in Alabama? DO you remember Guy Hunt or Robert Bentley?

Geez, any soundbyte of these Governors across the country makes us look like we never taught speech in our schools...:)

Frustrating. AL has a ton of great natural features that we could leverage, but there is a large % of the population that will always resist progression

1pm car rally happening around capitol to encourage reopening.

Meemaw has folks set up barricades to block roads to prevent rally
