The most unmotivated and undisciplined game I’ve seen under him, given the stage.

That was after a regular season championship too.

The losses at the end of the season helped lower expectations on this team

If we simply got back consistently on shots and loose balls we probably win. That’s an easy correction for a coach but we continued to ball watch.

Bruce is great for this program. From worst P5 team to some of the best.

Tournament championships are really tough to achieve. I have watched this unfold for other teams and friends over the years but this is probably the first time I’ve felt the pain of watching a championship caliber team get destroyed too early. Sucks to lose. Sucks to be thankful that we’re closer winning a championship as a struggling 2 seed than a hot 10 seed.

Better days are ahead

If this is the official autopsy thread can I ask here wtf happened to Kessler today

The fouls, the missed easy buckets he’s made all year, and the general demeanor/effort when he was in the court was not great…

When Kessler has to generate his own offense he is not good. Just hasnt developed that part of his game yet. The early foul trouble takes him out of his game too. We saw it against Bama and UF this year.

I felt like the entire team had a negative attitude, no joy, and being sub 33% shooting tonight was no good

I’ll go with inexperienced team on this one. Plus had taken body punches all year trying to hold on to the SEC championship. I think Bruce realized if shooting didn’t improve we wouldn’t be final 4 caliber so he keep playing it close and winning games he could and hung on for the SEC championship. Continuing to take those body blows. Miami hit a couple body blows and then went head hunting and connected. We never got our legs back under us.

Overall what a season. Best season for me since 99 over a long stretch. The 19 season and the post season run was incredible. But this ranks up their with both those teams.

Anyone who has watched the last month knew we weren't going deep in the tournament. Disappointed but not surprised

I personally would rank '19 as the solid #1 and this year as a solid #2. I might have been more excited or engaged during this regular season, but it's going to take a lot to unseat the absolute bonkers post season run in '19 - especially considering who we ran through to get there.

I don’t disagree with any of that, just saying it’s rare to see a Pearl team come out as flat, unprepared, and unmotivated as we did last night. We were throwing prayer shot 3-pointers instead of working inside. Still a great season, but sucks to end on getting blown out.

Why does deja vu happen so much at Auburn? We've shown time and again under Pearl that we need a competent PG that can drive the ball, otherwise when the offense goes stagnant (and it always does), there's nothing we can do to snap out of it. So make sure you have one. Loose screw Green should have had that pounded into his head, or sat the bench. Nobody moving, so how much film were they watching? Miami players sounded like coaches the day before, putting in the work and scouting needed. Writing was on the wall the last month or so of the season. Knew when I saw Miami's tall, guard-heavy roster that we might bring back the Arkansas game. A lot like Bama fans, I'm mostly glad it's over. Pathetic isn't a strong enough word for last night, but at least it wasn't a one-off performance.

You really pinning last night's loss on Green? Thought he played ok. The statline is ugly due to shooting numbers but a lot of that was a late barrage of chucking threes when the game wasn't exactly in the balance. Thought he played good smart hoops for the first 25-30 minutes of the game and was getting us good looks.
