I hope he can find a school where he will be a good fit.

I'll tell you a real headscratcher....that Gatewood transfers to UCF to be with Malzahn.

That would be a Twilight zone moment.

TBH, that would be the best option for him, if he wants any chance to get to the NFL or play a lot of college ball over the next 2. He's got 2 years to refine his role.

Like JJ Pegues is doing, JG was athletic and 'looked' like a strong arm athletic QB with HS comparisons to Cam.

But what 2 different SEC schools have shown as well as it seems his HS coaches, is he just doesn't seem to have all that is needed to be a top level QB. Who knows if it is his mental skills that go into how a QB learns the playbook and then executes them on the field.

I hope he does well, but he has to see now that it has to be at another position...

He is not a QB.

That is now a fact.

Why does everyone here always want to transfer our shitty QBs to tight end? Do we even know that the guy can run a route or catch the ball?

Is tight end like the right fielder when you were a kid? Anybody can play it

He isn't a QB. I doubt he could play an OL or DL position. He isn't big enough for LB. He is too slow for DB or WR.

by process of elimination...........TE

In HS as you know he rotated at QB and athlete. Mainly athlete as the QB material guy threw most of the passes.

It sure is funny that after all the years of telling people no that Tebow is just now trying his hand at TE.

No, but when you are 6'5" and over 230, and athletic that is the next position that fits that mold of a player.

It just seems like a natural transition if you are trying to make it to the NFL.

I remember a QB at Ark names Jones years ago that was their QB and ended up a TE when he got a chance in the NFL.
He actually turned into a pretty good WR at 6'6" and did well in the NFL for some years.

So it definitely can happen...

Matt Jones is one of the best combinations of size and speed the SEC has ever seen. Gatewood isn't in the same league in terms of athleticism.

So will Gatewood be immediately eligible due to new transfer rules? Or covid rules? Or what?

Just curious since he already transferred once and received near immediate eligibility due to whatever waiver he got. And since he’s transferring in fall camp.
