The difference is, Gus didn’t lose these game. We look like crap at times, but we did not lose these out of conference games at home. Or to Alabama like we did last year. There’s a difference in looking bad and losing games that you absolutely should not lose at home.

I think freeze is doing a good job buying up players. It is a different type of system than before. But I have zero confidence he can coach us on game day now. Unfortunately, that is a big part of his job.

I don’t know squat about football but I honestly always felt like we had the better coach when we had Gus and Hugh was at OM. I’m not so sure I wasn’t right.

Watching Freeze on the side lines

- CHF forgot how to coach

- CHF, who sees these QBs every day, knows Thorn is the best option for Auburn to win.

Neither of these answers is very comforting.

as far as the comparison goes............I mean both try to fit square pegs in round holes. They get tunnel vision during the game and are too stubborn to go in a different direction.

Committing 5 turnovers to 0 should lose you the game almost every time.

Glad he left him in.

Had he pulled him at the half and we lost close he'd be back out there next sat.

Now PT has made his own bed and shite in it.

Ride out the rest of your scholly and move on.

Good QBs recognize and anticipate blitzes. Throne is utterly incapable of doing that. As soon as there is pressure, he gets happy feet and runs around

By high school recruiting stars, yes.

By experience and cohesion, we wouldn’t necessarily see the impact by game two.

All based on the way they practice. There is no way Thorne is as bad of a player in practice that he is in games. If he is, then we need to save the scholarships of the other QBs and cut them. Thorne is not a gamer. It’s time to see if any of these other guys are.

I remember Gus losing several games because of his stubbornness. One that comes to mind is a game at UGA. They were around .500 for the year, and charmin soft. He trotted Sean White out there with a throwing shoulder so injured that he couldn’t pass. Everyone knew it. He had healthy QBs on the bench. We lost that game.

There are others, but that one sticks out in my mind.

He always seemed to have one or two games per year that we lost and had no business losing. But, he also won a few that we had no business winning.

Losing to UGA is not the same as losing to Cal or NMS.

Every coach loses games they shouldn’t but the last couple of years has just been embarrassing to the program.

What was Harsins big win? LSU maybe?

What has been Hugh’s big win so far?

Cal basically kicked our arse two years in a row. Penn state killed us.

Cal just basically out smarted us on the field and on the sidelines.

It was an O disaster. Play calling especially in the 1st half, poor tackle play and QB making poor decisions under pressure. we were r trying to be the raiders of the 80’s.

If CHF keeps NOT making in-game changes to win ball games, I am going to empty my liquor cabinet. And it is pretty full right now. Did anyone notice any offense halftime adjustments?

Find me a QB with 'game' leadership and not 'practice' leadership!

Heck, Coleman wanted out on the last play, but some dumb-arse coach held No.4 from swapping spots. And there was time to do it!

Time to mow the grass... I think it is going to be a "six-pack mowing" and it only takes me 45 minutes to cut.

we actually tried to run the ball..........it was because we were on our own 2, but still. We start moving the ball. We try a pass on first down and play behind the chains.

then the other time we ran again. It was because we were on our own 2, but still. We start moving the ball. We try a pass on first down and play behind the chains.

Then we get our best field position of the day. On first down we pass. You guessed it.....INT.

people have selective memory..................and you will not find a bigger fan of Gus than me. He just has coaching flaws.

"what was that stupid shite", "my wife knew what play was coming", and "Gus just tries to get too cute at times" was often uttered after a Gus coached game.
