Let’s hang on to Deuce and Ashton and bring in the USF guy and let them battle it out.

Easy to say. Harder to actually do.

No way all three of those are here next year IMO.

Brown should stay at USF. Golesh already said he can develop his offense around his player's strengths. Don't blow up this QB room for a one year guy you're more comfortable with.

I think Golesh basically has to decide if he likes Deuce or Brown better.

Unfortunately not much game tape of Deuce so harder to know what you’ve got in him but that’s why you get paid $7mill a year.

Hopefully he learns from Freeze and doesn’t try to wait until year 3 to decide he needs a QB.

Speaking of QBs maybe we should discuss the one committed today. I don’t know a ton about him wasn’t on my radar and just now getting to check out some of his film.

Average arm strength for P4 conference
Very accurate
High level mechanics. Arm slot/footwork/movement in the pocket
Decent athlete

Most of USF’s competition is on Mercer’s level, so we don’t know much about that kid either.

Sure, but realize that this is no different than the case against Pavia coming from New Mexico State. And now everyone wants to pretend like they knew all along that he was elite and that it was a travesty that we didn't take him.

Fun fact: Pavia started against two P4 teams in 2022:

vs Wisconsin: 6 for 19 for 52 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, -21 rush yards
vs Missouri: 6 for 17 for 76 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 50 rush yards

Lettuce revisit in March. We will have some more options with the late signers and second portal window.

This is a way different situation than then though. If Thorne and Ashford made up the QB room, I’d be screaming from the rooftops to bring this kid in.

Pavia went to New Mexico Military Institute JC & led them to a championship before heading to NM State.

He was overlooked out of HS. Maybe because he was shorter than what people are looking for...

Thorne

You still shitting on this guy like he’s on the level with Robby is weird. Thorne would have put up video number this season with the little development the WRs and OL made. Caught way too much crap for an entirely broken offense.

No he wouldn’t have. Dude sucked. He held onto the ball way too long, couldn’t go through progressions, had a weak arm, and panicked in the pocket. Not to mention he was a turnover machine.

that's what I'm wondering. You mean to tell me our money men couldn't surprise us with ANYONE this morning? Not even the Carter kid?

It’d be nice to land at least 1 big surprise. They definitely have the money to with no other big name signing today besides Toodle and Wilkes.

I can’t believe they didn’t get back on Cleveland. He went to North Carolina.

The hell it doesn't. You are trying to say things about competition. This kid went out as a Freshman & won a NC.

That is a different talent level & mindset. If his measurables would have been 6-2 or 6-3 he would have been looked at differently and probably would have been picked up by a higher level school than NM State.
