I predict Hugh will scrape together a 6-6 regular season and in his usual fashion (actually all Auburn coach's fashion dating back to Malzahn) get embarrassed in a meaningless Bowl game to secure the 3rd straight losing season.

Maybe Mercer.
Possibly Kentucky.
5-7 probably.
but the only reasonably sure W is Mercer
i cant see us beating any other team on our schedule, so our ceiling is 6-6 and our floor is 4-8
but hey, if we’re patient, Freezus will lead us to the promised land ($2 to goose)

I think we are better than Vandy, but they are a better team if that makes sense.. so that could go either way. Miss out on even 1 of those wins and you have to upset UGA, Mizzou, or bama to get to 7. Its a hard road for sure and there is zero room for error now.
Other than Mercer, what two teams do you have Auburn beating?

Been that way for almost a decade.
2017 was the last time Auburn played where I felt like we had a competent offense and even that was because we had an NFL caliber RB and rode him to death.

Auburn is never going to hire the head coach that fans believe the program deserves because the Auburn power structure has a reputation that top tier coaches wish to avoid. Any agent worth a damn knows Auburn is pretty enough to make their elite client’s current employer nervous, but crazy enough not to let them crawl in bed together. They do some flirting, a little sexting and before you know it they’ve got a contract extension and Auburn is at the alter with another scrub trying to get his dick wet with big time CFB.

It’s not just Hugh but the entire O staff. Most can’t recruit their position and none can coach and develop. Nix is not an OC.

Freeze looks like he has no energy on the side lines. He has done very good recruiting, but the offense seems lost, unsure of itself and is lacking in fire in the belly.
A top OC, QB coach and O-line coach could fix that.

Not if Hugh is still the HC.

Hugh doesn’t seem to be able to let go of the reins. He brought in his pals but they are not hood

Anybody remember off the top of their heads what the buyout is that AU gave a coach that literally nobody else on the planet wanted?
