I don’t care how many millions the PTB spend, they have shown on this very day they don’t give a shite whether Auburn wins or loses. They’d rather hope they aren’t proven wrong about their fake arse preacher man. That’s it. Fake arse preacher man who dials up hookers and looks at teenage girls without their shirt on. Ask yourself how you can support this?

Everything about Freeze is fake. I also find it odd that he never played a down of football.

If they fired Freeze today that would be a mistake if they dont have a plan.

That is all that 789 is saying.

Nobody here is shilling for Freeze but here you are calling everyone pussies.

That is not what he is saying. He says it’s a mistake to fire Freeze. Period. He says it was a mistake to fire Malzahn.

fricking losers all of you. Have fun losing! You’re fake arse troll anyway so no worry. You can go laugh with all your bama friends.

Jang, seriously, you are an enormous pussy. Huge!

From his own thread:

I’m at the point where I’m open to moving on from Freeze if our power-brokers can…

1. All get on the same page (which seems unlikely so the rest is probably moot)…

2. Line up a replacement that would be a for sure upgrade that fans, players, and recruits could get excited about

I've gone from getting mad about it, to genuinely not caring as much, to completely indifferent to it all. I will be honest, I don't know who we play next nor do I care. There is nobody we would hire that would be any better. Rhett Lashlee would be the front runner. More of the exact fricking same

Would be par for the course. We’ve had one coach since Dye that I didn’t have to talk myself into being excited about

I've always thought it was pure fricking incompetence, but I'm starting to believe nobody wants the fricking job.

We need some a-hole, the college football world respects (and they do respect him), to lift the program back to where it deserves to be..

I would much rather pay some big name 15 million to fix it, but someone is going to have to prove it's a job worth having before anyone, of note, is going to risk their career on it.

Do I love the idea? frick no. But, if we don't find someone good enough to fix it, and fast, we'll be this decade's Tennessee. ISWIFS

That's why I am "dismissing" him. I don't know the answer, but I am all for trying to break the cycle we are in.

6 months ago Franklin would have cost 12m/year. I think the big game knock is legit. But the floor is high, and Auburn is in a tight spot. He's also likely to be pretty affordable considering his resume.

Maybe I'm just getting older - but I don't think this is a time for risk or an up and comer unless they're an absolute animal for the sport. I want the a-hole veteran coach who knows how to navigate the politics, the locker room, and doesn't have to fake it until they make it. I don't want someone who has no viability left in the game (Jimbo) but I'm ok trading some upside for experience and security. Franklin checks those boxes for me, even though I think your concerns are valid.

In Auburn's history we've never hired someone who had 10 years of experience coaching at a top 15 program. Nothing even close to it. It would definitely be a completely new type of hire for AU.

Auburn is always in big games. Bama, Georgia, LSU, and so on.

He isn't going to be in the Big 10.

Can he handle that.

He is the original Clark Lea. Dont know why he sucks so bad now...

I rather have someone who is young, upcoming and full of energy.

We need a real gamer.

Why would that be a mistake? If they fire him now they can't hire a replacement right away regardless because we are in the middle of the season and everyone is still playing games. Even if you already know who you want, you still can't hire them.

The whole logic behind firing early is that it gives you LOTS of time to MAKE A PLAN. From making sure that your stakeholders are aligned, to signaling to agents and candidates that your job is in fact open. Anyone interested in the Penn State job will have weeks to consider everything involved with making that move, including making sure that their family approves.

Given that Auburn's boosters and stakeholders struggle with planning and reaching consensus, wouldn't it be in their best interest to allot themselves as much time as possible? This is common sense. I'd actually argue that Auburn is one school that should NOT wait until the season concludes because of these factors.

I am pretty sure Penn State already had their guy or Franklin would not be out. They did not want the risk of him getting a respectable record that would make it too difficult to fire him. PSU probably still gets 7 wins.

Sure, that is the other angle that works against keeping the coach for the entire season. Billy Napier won a bunch of games to end last season and saved his job, and now he is 2-4. So Florida is sitting in the same spot that they were at a year ago with a failing coach.

I think Hugh's immediate future is set this weekend.

If he wins, he probably gets to finish this season and maybe get one more year.

If he loses, I think they might pull the band-aid off before any more games.

Franklin must not get along with his immediate supervisor.

With a playoff appearance last year, you’d think Franklin cou,d survive a 7-5 season.

I think the fear at Penn State was he was never going to get over the hump. Last year, they had the easiest path to a championship and still crapped down their leg.

Don't get me wrong, I would take Franklin in a heartbeat --- especially if he took a big pay cut to screw Penn State. Get him cheap (ish) and we would at least be respectable again.
