Eh, I'd put Kast, Wu, and Run-DMC right with or over them. That's just me though.

Penny also had Bray and Reed as the "starters" at WR basically because they have the most experience, however if we're going to run the ball as much as I think we are in this game, I don't see them playing that much since they can't really block that well.
I feel like we'll have Denson, Fulse, Uzomah and Prosch out there a good bit. Maybe Reed and Bray have gotten better at blocking, but I'll wait to see it.

Me too. FWIW my Dad has been to practice and of course was there on Sat. He said we are not world beaters but that we have a shot at scoring much more than we did last year. The OL is the best "position" we have right now. That we really need some young Def. players to mature this year as we go. But what he said that really bugged me was that we maybe missed on some of our JUCO's on D. i.e. Flowers & Bradley.

Flowers just got here, so I can understand him not looking the part yet... as was report a few weeks ago, Bradley has dropped a considerable amount of weight over the last few months... would make sense that he's still in the process of building strength and learning to play with his new body.
Also, I believe Flowers has 3 years of eligibility left, so there's time to grow and develop... not so much for Bradley, but it can take JUCO DLs time to adjust to the game.

I have posted this 1000x on here and people don't get it. College S&C is a whole new level of athleticism training for 99% of recruits. Yes there are kids like Carl Lawson who have a good background but 9/10 kids who walk on campus have had subpar instruction, training and dietary advice . Add on to that that most people do not see really significant gains till 1.5-3 years lifting. So most of these kids are impressive in JUCO and HS on pure athleticism. Pure athleticism doesn't cut it in the SEC because everyone is athletic. Weight training is one of the primary reasons you see dominant teams like Alabama and LSU always play at a high level.
Guys like Ben Bradley, he just shed 30 pounds, he has to adjust to his new physique in terms of how he moves. Just because he has more control over his body and is more dynamic doesn't mean his neuromuscular responses (mind awareness of the body) has adjusted to it yet. 30+ pounds in 6 months is a significant change and it takes times to test your limits. Also, a significant factor of a DT is the ability to hold your ground and throw around your weight. Ben Bradley now has 30 less pounds of leverage to push behind. It is now easier for an OG to throw him around and the OGs are now higher quality than before. It takes time getting used to that. That part is technique.
Putting on muscle without performance enhancing drugs is extremely difficult. If you lift and eat well every day for a year and you put on more than 20 pounds after you have gone through puberty/growth period, you are an athletic gift to this earth. Granted most of these players are on that level of athleticism but it is even harder to bulk up and cut weight at the same time. So it is highly unlikely you will have a guy lose 30 pounds and gain 10+ back in 6 months.
So why you are expecting a guy coming from a lower level of competition, who had significant weight to lose, who has had SEC level technique instruction for about 6 months, playing in a brand new scheme that is likely significantly more complicated and adjusting to an entirely new atmosphere will show up and absolutely dominant guys who have a 2 year + advanntage over him is absurd.
Same argument for Flowers

Mainly because JUCO guys are supposed to come in and start. That's why you bring them in; to fill immediate holes that high schoolers can't fill.

I'll take your word for it. I've been a lazy bum for about ten years now.

Not all JUCO players are field ready. A number of them have a ways to go. Especially Ben Bradley who was in worse shape than expected.
Regardless, if he contributes this year then say starts next year that is all you can ask for him. Right now we need depth at DT, we have 3 returning players with starting experience and Bradley is not a Lavon Hooks 5 star

correct... Bradley wasn't as good a prospect as Hooks or a health Johnson (who signed with UGA). He's a bit of a reach, but has a chance to do some good things. He'll probably never be a Nick Fairley type JUCO.

He has talent and the coaches have indicated that. He obviously is just having trouble adjusting to the new physicality and demands of being in better shape. That comes with time with good S&C

I'm pretty sure lowspark said:

So I really don't know what the novel you wrote above was addressing outside of he said the same thing you did, but did it in a much more succinct and understandable way.
Oh, BTW... "dominate" is a verb... "dominant" is an adjective.

On The Drive, Rod Bramblett, asked about the newcomers, who's going to show out the most, said about Marcus Davis (his choice), "He's not the biggest or tallest receiver but he's fast and he just goes and gets the ball."

Surprised he's getting so much praise already. He was projected as a CB coming out of high school. The coaches must have really seen something in him they liked to move him to wr, given our lack of depth at cb. From all accounts he is a tough gritty guy with a chip on his shoulder from being overshadowed by his teammate Greg Bryant. He and Tony Stevens supposedly talk a lot of shite to the defense during in practice and I like it. I hope he can give us a physical option in the slot like a Hines Ward or Steve Smith type.

Gus Malzahn recruited him as a slot wide receiver.
