I nearly had a heart attack just now while catching up on the thread. We can afford an injury at G, but not at T. Someone please wrap Tega in some bubblewrap until the season starts.
I said 4 days ago if Prince was really dealing with an injury he should sit until the Oregon game, everyone downvoted and disagreed. Glad to see other people are seeing the light.

See? Even Marines complain about downvotes.

What? Gus' system allows for non NFL type QBs to beat out more "NFL" type QBs. I would take Nick Marshall over Stidham/JakeFromm and plenty of other "NFL" caliber QBs

I was speaking generally about major programs...not just Auburn. I wouldn't call Stidham an NFL QB yet.

Haha. Not really, just saying I don’t understand why people think he has to be in every scrimmage and practice until the season starts if his knee is bothering him.

Haha just joking.
Lot of Oregon dudes on this list.

Our dline vs their oline will be fun to watch.

Eh, it’s the PAC-12 and they are probably going to win it. They should have a lot on there

The ones listed are legit though. Herbert is obviously great, but Oregon should have one of the best OLs in the country.

Scholarship weekend. Gus has lost a lot of weight. Most animated I have ever seen him. Embraced the schedule. 2 and 3 team will scrimmage tomorrow. A few goal line situations for the 1s. Doubt we get anything out of the scrimmage.

Oh for sure, I’m not discrediting the Oregon players by any means. Their offense should be a great test for our D.

Confirmed, Gus playing tricks all camp. Gatewood is Cam 2.0.

If Gatewood comes in and dominates I seriously might cry. Same with Nix, honestly. Regardless of who starts, regardless of the inevitable growing pains, I'm ready to see this offense with a serious dual threat talent again - especially with the weapons we have at WR and RB. Stidham had enough mobility to run one in from close, but Nix and Gatewood are so much more capable of burning a defense for big yardage.
Ugh, it's happening.

Truth. I just want to get back to a 2009/2010 era Malzahn. Back when he had some edge to him.

Does it not seem like he's turned a corner or at least come close? Genuine question.
That Purdue game was a masterclass. Granted, it was Purdue and not one of our typical SEC settings - but that team beat the hell out of Ohio State and we made them look like they were running in slow motion.
That and his apparent change in openness (at least with the team as evidenced by what the team has been saying about him for months) prove to me that he's at least trying to put it all on the line.

The Purdue game was one of the closest I’ve seen to vintage 2009 era.

QB play dictates 7 wins or 10 this year. Outside of that this team has what it takes to win the SEC. Weapons on offense, SR OL, deep RB field, elite DL and secondary.

EXACTLY. What I was telling my nephew. If we can get just AVERAGE play from our QB this year, we should be in the playoff given the strength of our defense and special teams.
