So much for the Joiner guys saying he would be the guy

Shaun Shivers, junior OR

D.J. Williams, soph.

Tank Bigsby, freshman OR

Mark-Antony Richards, redshirt freshman

Harold Joiner, redshirt sophomore

Devan Barrett, senior

Did we get the most of this young man’s talent? Seems like he just could not find the best fit for his talent, but he must be a good teammate. What kept him from becoming a starter somewhere on the field?

I hope he has a productive senior year.

Main thing that jumps out looking at the depth chart is that we should return ALOT of production going into 2021. Our entire offense would be returning if everyone comes back (unlikely).

I said what I heard was Joiner running 1A and also followed it up the next weeks saying but that was just from the first week of practice and could have just been him knowing the position more then the younger guys.

Also have to consider that is Tom Greene from AL.com’s depth chart and not the coaches. I think we are still 2 weeks away from a depth chart and might not get one before game one.

Barrett I don’t know the whole story but just seemed to me never physical enough for running back or safety. Never loose or fast enough for corner. He has done some gunner stuff on special teams I think.

Definitely one that didn’t live up to his ranking. There is always 1 or 2 in every class and a couple players that are better then their rankings as well.

WE47 ‘21 has always been the year since Bo signed. But he and a lot of players have to get better this year and gain experience. OL and DL play will give us a good idea.

Considering this year does not count against anyone's eligibility, theoretically '21 AND '22 could be monster years, if everyone did return and use up their full eligibility.

Is that true? I thought that was only the case for the teams/conferences not playing.

That extra year of eligibility ONLY applies to those players who asked to opt out due to virus concerns.

Anyone playing this year, will not get an extra year of eligibility.

Good thing we singed those two JUCO OT for them to be 2nd and 3rd on the depth chart. More excellent scouting by Gus

Not according to this article from CBS.

Unless something has changed since this was published on 8/21:

The NCAA Board of Governors took a landmark step on Friday by approving a measure that will grant an extra year of eligibility to all fall sports athletes. Even athletes who compete this fall will be eligible for an extra year under the rule, which was recommended earlier this week by the Division I Council.

Capt you might as well get over the hate Gus thing. He is here until at least Bo leaves so that’s a minimum of 2 more years. And yes thankfully we got the Juco guys. One has 3 years of eligibility and the other will be a starter next year. Did you expect them to come into a new system with no spring and jump to starter. Then the saying would be Gus can’t recruit at all a Juco with no practice just walks in and starts

Guess by your logic Coach G can’t recruit either or coach or scout.. got a couple Juco transfers and neither are starters listed

If that's the case, then there are going to be problems. Any stats that these players earn, then could be added on again in 2021, even if he was a senior in 2020.

Talk about NCAA stats being skewed.

He can't. Ive been on the Fire RG train for years now. He can't develop a pass-rusher to save his life. Garner is living off of two elite recruits Adams and Brown. Other those two he has been below average.

So we should ignore the good in order to agree with you that he's bad?

You can do whatever you want. I know I'm right.

Garner's recruit record reads like Gus' bowl game record

CRG is easily our most consistent coach on the field and off the field. There have been years where if it wasn’t for his recruiting we would be fricked. He’s also constantly in the top recruiter rankings. So maybe he hasn’t been great at producing pass rushers but coming after him over recruiting is weird.

What’s worse - problems with stats or problems with players lives and earning potential getting fricked due to this virus? Put an asterisk by the stats if you want, no one will care. Not letting these guys play would be the real shame
