Big Percy is TOO BIG to be a LT anyway. 355 lbs is G/RT size.

But is he too big for college? And does him playing tackle in college make it significantly harder to get drafted and transition to guard in the NFL? I’ve heard they like players who can play multiple positions.

I've read that Percy has a history at MSU of struggling in camp and then gradually playing himself into shape. Big guys typically struggle in the heat during fall camp and then get their legs back as the work load goes down. Perhaps that is what we are seeing here and this move is just short term until he can get into game shape

Its not that baffling...

Was saying it is baffling that no matter what we try and do, we can't seem to get a competent OL.

Hopefully when the lights come on, it clicks enough to get us by.

I heard before he was a starter at Miss State he would come in on passing downs because he’s a good pass blocker. Seems that could work if he’s not in shape and the other tackles are stronger at run blocking.

That might work for one quarter until the opposing DC picks up on it and just overloads and blitzes the other side whenever he comes into the game.

The top 5 LT's in the NFL, average weight is about 315. Penei Sewell is the biggest at 324. He's not quick enough at that size to be a LT

I'm still a Holden believer, but congrats to Hank Brown for getting that spot.

I think Holden will stay through at least spring ball next year. Regardless of where they are on the depth chart all 3 back up QBs this year will keep developing and unless we bring in a top transfer, they will all be competing for the starting job.

I like the move of Wade back to T. I never really got the move to begin with nor the "his future is at G". He played well for us at LT last year and I think any future he might have is at tackle.

Wade is small for an SEC LT at 6’3 303lbs so that worries me. Reminds me of when Tony Franklin wanted all the linemen to be 280 lbs and they got pushed around.

You're right... which further proves my point. Percy Lewis is 30-35lbs too big to be a LT

You have a few outliers (Jordan Mailata 6’8 365 lbs at LT) but most are around 6-5 315-320 lbs. I always thought they were taller on average in NFL.

I'm not sold on the rest of what you said but this would be ideal.

I think Freeze wants to get Walker his 4 games of experience this season and then redshirt if possible.

First time I've heard Riddick talk. Seems like a cool dude who came in humble and wanted to work. He said they had him playing middle linebacker in camp.

Same guy who said Hank had won the 2nd team job a day before it was announced is saying Tyler Johnson has moved ahead of Percy at LT.

He would make one hell of a safety if he wasn’t selfish

Nope, he's going the have to have an education route. Because he's blown that chance at the NFL.
