Just got power back after being down for 30+ hours. Had 4 huge oak trees fall behind my house, but at least they're in the woods so idgaf Now I have a better view from my deck

Going on 30 hours with no power in rural Elmore County.

There is still a transformer in a ditch with a pine tree laying on top of it less than a mile from our house.

Alabama Power still says that they are "evaluating" our outage with no estimated restoration time...

We got really lucky in our area. Power was out for all of 2 minutes early Thursday morning. It honestly sounded like the wind last night as the cold front came through was worse than what we got Thursday morning.

I know that other areas of Gwinnett weren't as lucky. My cousin who lives ITP in Dekalb may not get power back until Sunday night.

Wind here was definitely worse last night.

I think my neighborhood might be the only one in Dekalb that didn't lose power or internet No clue how we managed that with all the trees and above ground power lines

We never lost power in Decatur, but 1/4 mile from our house a tree fell across Ponce(east of the square) and I'm not sure if they have it back on yet or not. It wasn't on as of this morning and Ga Power hadn't even touched it at that point.

Our water went out for a bit on Thurs morning, but I'm assuming a pumping station may have lost power for a bit. That's the only issue we've had.

Yeah, Sawnee. They've honestly been amazing. Tree that knocked us out and blocked the road happened at 5:25. Road was clear by 9:30, and they were working on fixing by 10. Worked their asses off for 11 hours to get us back up. Granted, our neighborhood is over 400 homes and it affected another 350 around us, so we were high priority.

5 days without power after Hurricane Sally and I was fully expecting 2 weeks without power. The linemen that came in did an amazing job getting us back online.

Got power back at 4pm today.

Our area was pretty hard hit. We are near a decent sized manufacturing plant and a water treatment plant. The fact that both of those facilities were down over 30 hours speaks to the damage.

I am only 30, but I would say that Zeta rivals both Opal and Ivan for roughest storms in this area in my lifetime.

Still in darkness here. Guess it’ll be the bar for me tomorrow. They still don’t have the tree off the power lines in the yard across from us. At this rate, not sure we’ll have it back at all this weekend

Wow. Thats crazy. I have never heard of water going off due to a storm. Makes perfect sense though. I would think water plants would be on a generator or something. We have a cell tower behind our neighborhood and when the power goes out here, you can hear the gas generator kick on and run till the power comes back on. Its a little annoying actually but we have some great cell service. LOL

Didnt know you lived in Decatur. I went to school right there in Avondale Estates...

Damn. Do you live in the sticks? I have a good friend who works in the power line service industry. He said it may take a while before they get to the far out stuff and the ones and twos places...

Hope they get you back on soon.

If your living tree hit his property it’s on his insurance to pay for the damages. It may be your responsibility to pay for removing sections of the tree and stump however
