It's good to know that we'll have a coach on campus for the next month (since Gus' bowl isn't until Jan 6). Hopefully Johnson can start getting things organized down here.

It took Chiziks months to replace roof last year after being head coach for 3 years, but only took Gus 27 hours to hire a DC since being announced as Auburns HC! Nice!

Good hire and I am glad it is early. Maybe Ellis can get some recruiting in. Chuck Oliver said Ellis was a very good recruiter.

I would hope so. But considering some of the recruits did not even know who Gus Malzahn is I doubt they will know who Ellis Johnson is. But after him talking to all the recruits I bet it will have a positive impact.

He is definitely a good DC, but his choices were continuing to stand in the unemployment line and taking the offer from Gus. I'll be more impressed if he starts poaching good coaches that are currently working.

Wikipedia shows Johnson as current DC for AU at $800k/yr. If wikipedia says it, it must be true......
