Durkin is not leaving

I’m assuming that means Vontrell stays and TJ Rushing.

I also assume the LB coach from USF coaches edge players and possibly OLBs and Durkin coaches inside backers. Strong side Ends I think would fall back under Vontrell with the interior DL.

Durkin is probably having reservations regarding being the DC in this type offense.

Well, the rumors of him to State or LSU if their DC gets the Tulane job would lead me to believe this probably isn't the case as State and Ole Miss had pretty similar offensive pace as USF.

Is it true Durkin left Kiffin on bad terms? If so, I doubt LSU is threat.

I don't see how LSU does not see how this story ends.

But honestly, after the way they tried to weasel out of the Kelly contract, Lane and LSU deserve each other.

I don't think we ever told him via attorney, we were looking to fire him for cause.

Some nasty rumors were started against him, no doubt. But that is a far cry from claiming we had reason to fire him for cause AFTER we fired him like LSU did to Kelly.

Our defense has been great with Durkin as DC.

We watch different teams apparently.

Apparently. Did you miss holding ty simpson to <150? Holding germie and Ryan williams to 1 catch combined? Holding A&M to their lowest point total of the season?

Im sorry if you did. It was the lone consistent bright spot of the whole season.

shite, the D is the only bright spot the last few years. IF we had any kind of competent O this season, we are talking about a playoff bid right now.

The main weakness with Durkin's D, that I heard brought up, it seemed that any time auburn had a turn around score, the other teams would just march down the field on us right after

Yup, those 1 score losses all happened in the 4th quarter when they needed a stop.

What kills me is we have had multiple seasons where we were supposed to have dynamic offenses and the defense kept us in games in spite of our shitty offense.

You would think Auburn would make a statement ASAP. Isn't tomorrow Signing Day?

It seems Durkin’s defense doesn’t even try to get off the field until the offense crosses the 50.

We just seem to play soft until the other team gets into near field goal range which ensures our offense is always starting in terrible field position.

Coupled with the worst punter in the SEC we seem to always lose the field position battle.

It's not in Auburn's hands, they can only do so much at the offer table

If our offense could have found 60 more points spread across 7 games we're undefeated.

The defense is the only reason most of these games were remotely that close and they flat out drug the offense kicking and screaming to the win against Arky.
