So we aren't just waiting on Coach X to finish his season in the NFL. We can't hire a DL coach.

What? No one said that they had an agreement with an NFL coach - just that this is where they'd target first.
Dunbar isn't the only name they're after. I believe they also have interest in Bears coach Chris Rumph (who has coached at Tenn, Florida, and Texas recently). They also have interest in LA Rams coach Henderson but they're still in the playoffs and that one seems like a big longshot.

He was Pruitt’s DC at UT…he’s been everywhere from Clemson, AL , Texas, Florida, etc.
Also pretty sure he was known to be a strong recruiter.

What do you think of Brumbaugh as a dline coach? I know he has been at several stops. I always liked him as a player at Auburn.
