He was a JR last year so with the free year from NCAA he could play 2 more seasons.

If.., he turns into a quality backup rb that would tell me a lot about the old coaching staff..

he was the #11 RB in HS iirc, might be just what we need with Tank.

I cannot believe he has 2 years left. I’m excited to see him play.

Saw someone else post this but in a few days time we’ve got a LB playing LB again, a RB playing RB, and got a commitment from a 4* HS OT

I've been pretty negative since some of the coaching hires but frick... Barrett back to RB, TD to LB, and the NW transfer coming in are all really good moves.

Just watch Barrett ball out at RB.. it has always been his natural position.

Harsin is a revolutionary

Seems as though Harsin is willing to build his team around what the players are comfortable with and what they do best, instead of trying to make them something they aren’t to fit into his system. I think we’re seeing a difference in evaluation.

Sometimes it makes sense for guys to move to a different position than what they are used to, most of the time it doesn't. That's what real coaching is for, to see where a player would excel best, and put them there.

Barrett is coming back bc the depth at RB is razor thin. Plus how is this guy still at Auburn? He has to have his doctorate by now

I think we are desperate, at least at this point in time, to have depth at RB.

Barrett hasn't played RB since 2017 when he signed. I hope he can contribute at this thin position.

His playing time will probably hinge on if we get a Juco or GT RB. I don't see a HS recruit, if we sign one, being able to contribute more than Barrett.

I guess Barrett would have 2 years left to play if he accepts the free year this year.

I doubted this when I first read it, but you're absolutely correct.

He was listed on AuburnTigers.com as a running back in 2018-2019, and not as a DB until 2020, but he's had zero carries/receptions since his true Freshman season.

And also 0 tackles since 2018

He was brought in each game for one play, a swing pass in the flat. About the 5th time he substituted in the opposing team was cheering "swing pass, swing pass". Course we ran it anyway and darn near got him decapitated.

The guy was a great talent coming out of HS but never given a chance.

Now if we could just convince MAR to come back, he will be the real deal....somewhere, that one really ticks me off.
