That was what was said. I don't know if there was any truth to it. I doubt it.

Wasn’t TRob calling the Bama defense, at least according to Kiffin?

So he said, but I believe that was just lane trolling.

Auburn wanted to hire Chris Kiffin last year, but it didn’t work out. Was really pulling against the Texans yesterday so we can hurry this process up.

How long do you think Freeze would wait for Kiffin?

Well, missed on the Roberts announcement, but that kinda makes me think we’re going to wait on Kiffin.

Not sure how long they’d wait on Kiffin, but I think he’s the top target. No real inside info. Just know Hugh wanted him last year and it didn’t work out and his name instantly popped up again this year.

Almost too quiet! Meetings were last week after the portal closed. I think Roberts survives.

I don’t get all of the Roberts hate. If he is really a pain in the arse to work with and players and other coaches don’t like him, that’s one thing. His results aren’t necessarily worth the headache. But I did not think the defense was an issue this year. We got after the quarterback and forced a ton turnovers this year. They played good enough to beat Alabama and UGA. Slowed down Ole Miss and LSU as much as any other defense did this year.

I get the 4th and 31 being infuriating, and the New Mexico State game was awful. But the whole team didn’t show up prepared for that game, and as much as the Alabama game sucked, you don’t fire a guy for one play call. Defense shite them down all game and gave us a chance to win has we not muffed a punt. At some point we need some continuity at the coordinator positions too and let guys develop in one system.

They say there is an exception for every rule, and if that is true, I can’t think of a better one.

Fair enough. I'm really not trying to die on a hill defending Roberts. If we can actually upgrade at that coordinator position, and get a guy in that can recruit and keep the momentum going on that side of that ball, awesome. But I hate the idea of turnover for the sake of turnover and for the most part I was pleased with the defensive performance in most games. I think it was pretty clear that the offensive side of the ball held us back way more than defense in most of our losses this year.

The Florida #Gators are strongly interested in Auburn defensive coordinator Ron Roberts to become its next inside linebackers coach, @247Sports has learned.

Hiring Roberts is one of multiple options the program is exploring to fill out Florida's coaching staff.

Florida know something that we dont?

If they are looking at him to be ILB coach, he was most likely told to find another job.

I'm with you all the way. If he's really a pain in the arse, fine. Ditch him. Like you said, he's not worth the headache.

But that play call on 4th and 31 was not the problem. It was the execution. In fact, that's probably the only time I would be okay playing prevent. If 9 MFers can't keep a handful of receivers in front of them, then they have low football IQ.

I was a day early.

Arnett, Kiffin, and Trob the three names I’ve heard most for his replacement.

I'd be fine with any of those three.

Would be interesting for multiple reasons.

One of which is Ryan Williams

I think you have order correct. I might change it to Arnett, Trob, Kiffin.
