What about Zac Etheridge? Is he any good at Ga. Tech?

Didn't know where to put this but Frost did put in a draft grade paperwork but his comments seem to lean towards staying

Kris Frost actually speaks and seems like a smart person in general, at least smarter than the average college football player. He improved a lot from 2013 to 2014 and I think he knows that playing under Will Muschamp will do nothing but help him. Now it's up to Cass McKinzy to realize the same... If they've been talking, hopefully they have the same thought process.
A linebacking group made up of Tre Williams, Kris Frost, Cass McKinzy and Anthony Swain rotating in has me moist.

Yep. Throw Mitchell in there to blitz some as well. He seems to have a good nose for the football.

Don't forget Byron Cowart

Cubelic obviously thinks they both need to stay for their own benefit.

Any thoughts on Travis Williams getting to coach the LB's? He's coaching them for the bowl game. Sounds like he's bringing some energy to it. He was so damn good on that 04 defense.

It might be temporary, but Travis Williams is where he has long wanted to be. He’s coaching Auburn’s linebackers.
At 209 pounds, Williams was an All-SEC middle linebacker as an Auburn senior. He played three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, returned to Auburn as a graduate assistant in 2009 and 2010, coached at Northern Iowa, helped lead Creekside (Ga.) High School to a state championship as a defensive coordinator and returned to Auburn again as a defensive analyst.
When Ellis Johnson was fired as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, head coach Gus Malzahn asked Williams to coach the linebackers through the Tigers’ Jan. 1 Outback Bowl matchup with Wisconsin.
Linebacker Kris Frost said Williams’ excitement was there for all to see.
“He told us the first day that it was a dream come true for him,” Frost said. “You can see it every day we go out there, how much intensity he puts in each and every drill and how much focus he puts in the little things. He’s making sure we do the little things right all the time. That’s really the most important thing he’s been teaching.”
Frost said Williams has brought a different mindset to the practice field
“We’ve been seeing a different side as far as linebackers,” Frost said. “We are having a lot more fun at practice. He is really intense. His style is a lot more physical, making sure every play is a physical play.”

It's always good to see former players come back and put their heart and soul into not only the maturation of the team, but also the players. It excites me to see former Auburn players come back and contribute. It's not might call, but I wouldn't be against Travis Williams actually becoming the linebacker coach.

Nothing against him but if we could get RS I would rather have him and let Williams learn from him until he leaves. It will make Williams better in the long run.

Who is RS?
ETA: Randy Shannon. I agree.

I like that he coached the UNI Panthers. Northern Iowa is a solid FCS program

FWIW...
@wzaldridge: Randy Shannon to be named the #Gators LB coach and recruiting coordinator according to FOX. Really great hire, look out rest of the state.

Happens after our/their Bowl games IYAM. They don't play until Saturday, so Sunday?

Coaches get bowl bonuses I believe. I would stay a week to make some 20-50K. This is a recruiting dead period anyways so not like having them on staff makes any real difference right now

Continuity has hurt our D but the general style and attitude has done worse. We don't seem to play with fire or swagger.
Having no pass rush due to poor Chizik recruiting, only one quality CB and average safeties though was a recipe for disaster.
While we could have been better on defense, I don't think we were ever going to have a "good" defense
