2 full recruiting classes? 3?

Games like yesterday reflect a lack of toughness.
Who is our strength coach?

I think talent was about even yesterday, but the Aggies wanted it more and executed better.

They were tougher physically and mentally.

I wish Freeze would offer 1.85 million as a payment from his salary for yesterday’s debacle

Players should also pitch in, should have to give up NIL money to cover the payout.

Every new coach “changes the culture”. You would think at some point, the culture would be right

Amirite?

True.

How long does it take to get a locker room full of guys who would sacrifice their success for team success?

Or as Julius Campbell said...

"Attitude reflects leadership."

A couple years.

Freeze has come in with praise and positivity, something Harsin lacked. Seems those were issues players in the South had with Harsin, he lacked praise and developing a relationship with the players. Harsin's cold approach might work in Idaho however it does not work in the South.

I got a feeling there will be some personal changes off season.

Minimum 2 years. Georgia was a culling day. Yesterday was a culture loss day.

But the standard for that culture is set from the top, the head coach, and pushed down through the assistants

This isn't the class.....two recruiting classes and we'll get there.

Strength .....takes more than one summer to get them geared up to withstand what they've gone through this season ....when the bench is as strong and determined as the first group ....now they are rolling.

There is a thread here that shows Aggies last 5 recruiting classes were ranked in the 100s. That sounds like a split between nothing but 2 and 3 stars. Development of players? They must be excelling there.

April 1951 Shug Jordan takes over as head Football Coach following a 0-10 season. They won 6 games in 1951. By 1954 Auburn is getting close to being as tough as any team in the nation.

Shug would tell you that 1956 they were better than the 1957 National Championship Team. So good all the coaches had to do was tell them when to catch the train or bus.

We've won 6 games so far this year ......The culture is changing.

With 18 to 22 year olds, a good coach can change the culture pretty quick. Especially when you ended last season with a positive influence like caddy.

It won't be 100% there next year, but it should be far along to not be an issue. Time will tell.

If all of the five stars sign ......the change starts this coming fall. Question is ......who is going to block for them and who is going to throw to them?

It was a beating.

It was not luck, or a bunch of tipped balls.

They came with a plan and executed it.

The culture change should already be in progress fully. Hugh has been head coach almost a full year. Building the talent is going to take way longer. Hugh came to a situation completely void of sec caliber talent.

Sure, but it is not because they have even talent

Their 3 stars might have been more lowly rated than our 3 stars but they have an identity, more cohesion, and better development.

I'd take their wide receivers over many of ours.

Their QB wasnt physically impressive but he looked like he knew his plan and his purpose.

One thing we can agree on is Auburn is not currently a team constructed talent wise to compete for SEC titles.

We have many starters/contributors who played juco, high school, or G5 last year.

Hugh will work to get better talent stacked in class after class.

We got beat by a team that , many years if not all, we will have a huge talent gap advantage.

Our best players are the punter and the kicker.

Our QB scares nobody.
Hunter is solid, but he’s not all SEC level.

Who on this team will make all SEC ?

Oscar Chapman and Evan McPherson have that skill level.

Maybe DJ James?

Will we have any linemen on the two deep all SEC team?

This is not a team stacked with NFL talent.

Maker's, want to golf. I'm bad.

We are the 18th most-talented team in the country. We are the last crew that has more 4-5* 50%, talent than not. (Hold last place)
