Maybe because he is at Tulsa, a tiny AAC school. Not sure Saban is going to get 5* to flock there.
Bet Deion would snag some, just sayin

Pretty sure the highest rated class in history mixed with some upperclassmen should have still been able to handle App State.
One would think so. However, if you just go out and take the top dudes and pay them NIL stuff to get them to come without checking to see if they are a cultural fit that becomes the problem. We have had similar problems here in the past.

Just told that Auburn and Zach Arnett are not pursuing a working relationship. He is no longer considered a candidate for their DC spot."

Well that sucks. It’s going to be TWill, isn’t it?

Probably Kelly.
Anyone else mentioned besides Gibson? Since the OC (hire?) was a surprise maybe there is a stellar DC not mentioned as well.

Is the OC hired yet? Been a busy weekend, maybe I missed it?

It appears Leach had a medical emergency and Arnett is acting HC. Hopefully Leach is fine but probably what ended any discussion w/ Arnett

Just saw on the rant Leach has been rushed to a hospital. I hope it is not that serious.

I shared a month ago that there was speculation that Leach would leave Mississippi State over health concerns. I guess there was something to it and too late

Ummmmmm
Their D didn’t look all that impressive this past season.
Or am I missing something?
Didn’t Aranda fire him?

I’m guessing the narrative would be that it was Arnett, but the Leach thing made Freeze go off the list

I like the hire. Not a HR, but solid. HC experience, etc. but yes last year they sucked.
Aranda fired Roberts Dec. 1 after three years leading the Bears’ defense, which ranked 65th in scoring (26.6) this fall. Baylor was 10th in the country last season at 18.3 points per game.
Roberts, 55, was Aranda’s mentor at Delta State, where Roberts served as defensive coordinator for two seasons before he was elevated to head coach in 2007. He hired Aranda as his defensive coordinator. Roberts led Delta State for five seasons, which included four Gulf South Conference titles, four playoff appearances and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship Game in 2010.
