No tears bud, walking away though. Did for the end of Gus and all of Harsin

Exactly when do they stop throwing good money after bad decisions?
They need to quit making bad decisions on coaches. The money is something else. If they care about their money, make a good hire. And, they will keep throwing the money around. They have it and it’s a status ego thing.

Or the Brian Kelly effect.
Do I need to remind you that Harsin should've beaten him this year?
It was just a few weeks ago when a whole lot of people where saying Kelly was the wrong fit for LSU.

Have hope Poker until hope is gone. If they hire Grimes or Elko then we will cry at that point. No use being sad until we have to be sad.

Kelly is progressing and improving week by week. That is awesome. They have a good coach in LSU now. They won championships with O and Miles. With their recruiting, LSU is going to be a big problem for everyone.

Yeah Kelly is going to do a great job there. Why anyone cares if a coach makes 9 or 10 mil a year is beyond me.

Exactly. Auburn deserves better. Hire like the program we think we should be. The "safe" hires have proven to have 1 flash in the pan season, if we are lucky, the the wheels fall off. If we want to be on the level of LSU, Bama, and UGA we need to act like we belong there. We have to take the big gamble on the most known commodity.

The market is the market. None of us said we agree with it, but that's what it is. Don't get what people don't get

Heck I say we throw a ton of other peoples money out there. Dangle $15MM a year out there and see what fish bite.

We probably tried to buyout Jimbo.

We either do a hire like Tater Tot from somewhere like Samford, or we buyout Jimbo.

Come on man. Brian Kelly has a lot more experience and history with success than one game vs Bama.
All he proved Saturday was he will succeed. LA has a lot of talent. You will be sorely mistaken if you can’t see he will bring a too program to LSU. He is a very good football coach. Just look at where ND is today vs while he was there. We need a HC that can match our rivals in X’s and O’s, And knows how to get the Jimmies and Joe’s to go with it. NIL will help us start grabbing our fair share.

You can't just gloss over a dismantling by UT and a near loss to Harsin with "improving week by week." This last week, he did nothing that Texas AM didn't do. He doesn't make a 2 point conversion and he is a fool.
LSU will be good with any decent coach.

My 2nd cousins neighbor's friend told him that we are looking to hire Gisele. He said we are just looking to get our money taken.

Like Corch said, none of them are worth the money, so why freak out about if someone gets $5MM vs $11MM a year.

NIL....
Get Deion for $4-5mm/year... make it incentive heavy to $8mm for top 5 recruiting class and national title. Donate $500k/year to JSU as long as he's here. The other $5mm/year contribute to NIL
Worst case scenario we have an absolutely stacked roster in a couple of years and Deion flops and is gone. New coach coming in has a full cupboard to work with.
Absolutely worst possible thing we could do is have someone come in who isn't a splash and can't recruit at a high level. If he fails then we fall completely apart and wander the desert for the next 10 years.

Do you really think Saban will still be coaching when he's 75?
Saban is "win chasing" at this point. He just wants to get in the record books. (He is already #1 in national titles but is tied with Bear for 6 at Bama. I suspect he wants to get 7 to go ahead of Bear).
No, he will never hit 300 wins like Bryant, Joe Pa, and Bowden, but he is only two seasons from hitting 200 and could make a run for 250ish before he retires. Hell, he might have 300 in mind but he would have to coach until well after 80 which I don't see happening.
I suspect he will coach long enough to get his 7th Bama title then hang it up. Since he isn't the same Saban as 5 years ago, that could take a few more years.
