Maybe see how Durkin does the next few games. See if he could bring in someone like Kendall Briles to run the offense

I am listening to the call in show with Alan Head and Jeffrey Lee and several callers really want Charles Kelly.
If people just want a high floor, stability tenure then we need to just roll with Durkin. Durkin is younger and probably has better recruiting chops. Kelly would probably bring a better staff.

I can't imagine why. We would have to be really fricking desperate to hire from Jacksonville State. Fwiw, Kelly just hired Jeremy Pruitt as an analyst which says that his judgement sucks.

Pruitt was arguably one of the best DCs in the game before taking the Ut job.
I think Kelly would be able to put an excellent staff around himself. I also think DJD stays if Kelly is hired.

I wouldn’t want Pruitt as HC, but as DC? Yeah, I’m in. He’d kill it with the talent we have on D.

What if Sumrall hired Pruitt as DC? Pruitt was an outstanding DC. I’d take him as DC in a heartbeat if Durkin wanted to leave if Sumrall were the HC. Sumrall with Pruitt as DC………sign me up!

That would be fine - as long as we only paid market value and gave DJ another raise.
Bring in Buster Faulkner with the extra funds.
Big money folks would probably give more.

I dont. Just to be honest. I know they respect each other but Durkin will be a hot commodity as DC again. We might have to give him another raise just to hope to get him to stay and he is already well paid.
