Correct. It's either we ride Thorne, or let's roll the dice on everyone with the real plan to bank on a future QB coming in

You must not be old enough to remember that rousing 3-2 victory over MSU back in 2008. It was just as bad.

Or Nall Ball back in 2003. Had we a real OC, we could had a Natty that year.

If Montgomery and the O-line can't figure out how to slow the rush, the QB isn't going to make a lot of difference.

Watched the Oregon Colorado game after our teams drubbing. Bo Nix is up over the 70% completion range when not running for his life all of the time. Might have a real chance to win the Heisman.

Geriner has a very good arm and a quick release. Didn't seem all that quick of foot in the face of all that blitzing though. Didn't get to see that much though.

the only blitz i could remember being thrown at Holden, he threw the ball immediately when he felt the pressure and it was 30 yards down the field to hooks for what would have been a touchdown if Hooks had kept his feet in bounds. Beautiful pass

Yes he does. Also if you watched Nix Saturday, he saw the blitz presnap changed out and did the quick throw to neutralize the blitz.

I blame throne for a lot of the issues and part of the blame goes to the OC for not helping him out with a quick play. However, there was enough there and many folks open enough for us to leave at least 3 TDs on the field. Some on thorne and a couple on the WRs.

Any chance we can bring in Nix as an OC in his future?

He has to understand what works and what doesn't tick...

The truth of the situation is, we are not gonna win many games with any of the QBs we have, but let Geriner play and maybe you can win with him next year or in two years. Thorne and Ashford have zero upside.

I think this is it. We are bad at QB no matter who is in. Plus the offensive line is poor too. It’s a bad combo for SEC play.

Thorne seems to be a very good practice QB. Can read our defense and runs to RPO. When he gets in real big-time SEC game, he gets memory lapses and goes "deer in the headlights". Maybe time for some pine time.

Robbie is the same Robbie. If it is there, he throws. Not accurately, but throws. If pressured, he tucks and runs. He stops seeing the field for a pass option most times. I will admit, if he starts to run, he can run. Run the RPO? He does half really well - run. Still not the starter IMO.

Holden is unproven. So, it is time to get proven. Best thrower of the bunch, per reports and limited in-game tosses. Can he run? Better question is can he see a blitz coming and react. Yeah, if the OL breaks down like it has, then will will see how he can run. I say, start him.

UGA has more talent than we do. If the defense is going to provide a half of tenacious defense, then let the offense experiment. Neither of QB1 nor QB2 are unknown. Maybe Holden is a gamer, not a practice or a one-dimension QB.

I have to wonder how many of the players are asking to try Geriner. The receivers sure dont like being broken in half (see Fromm) or damaged (Damari, that pitch should never have been tossed).

Or repeatedly running routes only to be wide open and have it sail 15 yards over your head.

Or the OL busting their arse and the QB running around off script instead of stepping into the pocket and they get called for holding.

So lets step back and take a look. Coaches say none of the QBs can read defenses, and two of them cant pass, sooooooo whats left but to try Geriner. Mobility does not matter if you are going to stand in the pocket for 5 minutes patting the ball, what matters is making a decision and throwing the ball. Roll with Geriner, there is nothing to lose at this point.

The most disheartening part is that several of our lineman got Peyton decent protection. If the game is 7-6 or 14-6 then that changes what can be called and how many blitzes you face. When A&M recognized that Peyton was broken and out of sorts they started to pin their ears back and come after him with reckless abandon. I didn't see a line that couldn't protect, I saw a QB who didn't give them or the offense itself a chance to work. If Holden can operate the absolute basics then he's a better choice than someone missing wide open targets with little pressure. It would probably help Peyton to at least sit for a few games

Thorne or Ashford is not going to magically get better against more superior opponents. Defense needs to save the season and get us above 0.500. We need to work hard on special teams especially punting and punt coverage as that’s the only thing that will help us. If we can get good field position, we can just run the damn ball and at least kick some field goals… there is probably something going on with Geriner that’s not readily apparent because there is no reason why any coach will see the abomination on offense and not just give him a full game. Maybe they are planning to do that for a home game.

Little birdy told me today this week there will be a mix up in reps. And at LSU might have a new starter at QB.

That would make some sense. I don't think we should put Holden in to start Georgia, but after the bye he would probably be worth a shot.

In my dream world, we see Thorne make some throws this weekend that are catchable and don't leave the receivers in a position to get murdered.

But the body language (aside from the shitty performance) of Thorne did not look good imo.

I can't wait to watch us run the triple option this weekend
