So glad they’re retiring #2, Cam is legend.
It’s not like we retire many, this will only be the fourth number retired in our history. #2, #7, #34, #88.

Me either. I always wore 7 in sports and I've never gotten to witness anyone wear my favorite number at Auburn.
Single digit numbers just look good on jerseys and players are gonna want them. Now we only have 8 (16 i guess since they double numbers for offense and defense) to issue. Imagine Deuce Knight transferring and it coming out that it was because he couldn't wear #2.

I know Auburn, and lots of other teams, have a "ring of honor", so why not just do that? Have the ring of honor mean the same thing as having the number retired.

Honestly imagine if every NFL player just up and decided to do that, while not having their number retired. I don't think he has a strong case, the number =/= you your number + your name might.

That’s not the hit you believe. Apparently the kid wearing #5 now was promised during the recruiting process by BK that he could wear the number. Kiffin is just upholding the promise made to the kid.
And I get why they are pissed. If someone like tank bigsby came to Auburn and demanded no one wear #4 again, I’d tell him he could take a long walk off a short cliff.
And JDs half assed claim of racism makes it even worse. He says no one has worn Burrows 9 since he left and they both won the Heisman Trophy. There’s only one reason to say this and it just makes him look worse. One directed possibly best offense in college football history, and the other lost 3 games. One of them is not like the other.
