This right here, not many teams play D like old school AU did. Even Bama has gotten away from it. Kirby has not though. So as I say, if we hire a competent coach and the PTB are good, we can field a great team. I will never forget going to AU in my Jr year of HS in the summer and meeting Lamar Rogers and Andre Bruce those were the days.
But are you sure a coach with the proven ability to bring in above average QBs plus traditional AU defense will work?
Please all naysayers, leave the building. What is about to happen with AU football has never happened before.

I agree not an AU intentional smokescreen but unintended and welcomed as sleight of hand.
The problem is with it all is if it isn't Kiffin and we were announcing tomorrow then why Friday and not Sunday after Carnell finishes the season? Who else coached their last game of the year today we would be after? Tomorrow has no special meaning to us as far as the season.
Surely they didn't have an agreement based on how he finished the year and he had to win today as part of the deal. Otherwise nothing makes sense with all of it. Kiffin has been telling people he was staying and that statement wouldn't be any worse if he left.

Your salt about Kiffin bleeds into every thread. It's annoying. The fact that Kiffin had to rebuild this year's roster and replace his DC and OC while still maintaining a chance at 9 wins and briefly hitting a top 10 ranking at OM is amazing.
