Can anyone deny that he appeared completely checked out for the Arkansas game and press conference yesterday? He was only there in the sense he was standing there. He could have won 10 games and gone to a major bowl but was checked out and lost that, OM fans will blame the distractions he could have put to bed quickly and easily. He can't go back. He is either Auburn bound or an NFL team got to him.

I kinda feel Kiffin stuff is too good to be true but there is no reason to move onto anyone until we at least offer the guy lol. Relax buddy
He knows. He’s just on the Deion or bust train

Don’t believe Ole Miss’ bullshite. NFL teams are not looking at him

If they know he's going they shouldn't even be letting him coach against state. He embarrassed them against Arkansas.

Heck yeah!
I know a lot of folks here have got their hopes sky high for Lane. If he says no, going to be a lot of melting.

Quit panicking people look at the direction of our Bball and baseball programs. We have invested a shitload in facilities and NIL. We aren’t gonna frick this up. Lots of great things about to happen at AU

Steve Robertson
@ScoutSteveR
I see a few people out here bashing @JonSokoloff
in these Twitter streets. No matter what happens, I can assure you he would never report something unless he believed it be both true and well sourced. He’s not the kind of dude to just report something to watch the world burn.
This guy is a Mississippi Writer and respected by Cohen.
So why did Kiffin feel the need to pile on the reporter? Any thoughts?

Somebody said they know each other/have an existing (friendly) relationship but I don't know how true

He is still coaching OM (for now) and had no choice?

Kiffin was facing mounting pressure to address the Auburn job. A report like this gives him an opportunity, via Twitter (his favorite platform), to address a definitive article on his own terms and by a guy with limited reach regionally and nationally.

I think we got Kiffin, you?

Gave him an opportunity to dismiss the rumors without issuing a straight up denial.
At least he learned something from Saban's mistake.

It’s seemed like a pretty good possibility for the last week that we have Kiffin locked up.
But wouldn’t be surprised by anything

Easier to deal with one target, especially one you won't be dealing with for much longer, than to go after a national guy.
Also, never forget:

I truly have no clue. This is as concentrated on one guy that I can remember Auburn fans, insiders, and media (both ours and where the coach is currently employed) being during past searches.
Also wouldn’t surprise me if this Kiffin stuff actually ended a while ago and Cohen is working on a guy like Fickell or Freeze while everyone is focused on Kiffin.
Regardless, it’s nice that the outward perception of this process isn’t a complete shitshow. Goes back to the idea that the folks at Auburn are aligned

This isn’t Congress: stop working both sides of the aisle.

Not really a hot takes guy. Not my thing. You won’t catch me arguing much on here these days. I’ve got low T
I’ve been pretty consistent for a while now. I’d be happy with Kiffin, Freeze, Deion, and Fickle among others that have been discussed here. I jumped aboard the Freeze wagon a couple of weeks ago.
Like Kiffin and basically everyone we’ve talked about, there’s some concern and downside there for sure. Definitely prefer Kiffin but I’m not willing to spend a lot of energy proving it
