Yeah which confirms he either wants to jump to us or wants a massive raise in Oxford

Dabo is this years Stoops / Meyer. He ain't leaving his comfy nest.

there is absolutely zero reason for Dabo to leave a conference where he has a clear shot to the playoffs every year.
There are millions of reasons to "throw" his name out in a coaching search for a school who is willing to over pay.

I don't want Dabo. That whole issue with his brother is uncomfortable to me and although Dabo is innocent, he let that around his program

He just got a 10 yr/ 115M contract this year.

While it is a "fun" rumor, there is absolutely zero reason for Dabo to leave a conference where he has a clear shot to the playoffs every year.
But I don't see why he would leave Clemson where he has to play 1 decent team a year to get to a playoff.

Auburn fans gather around: A RebelGrove Update
quote:
As of this morning, Auburn is still deep-researching both Lane Kiffin and Hugh Freeze. Per sources familiar with that search, John Cohen hasn't decided who is the top choice, though all signs point towards Kiffin. No offer has been extended to Kiffin, per multiple sources. However, there is an expectation an offer could come as early as late next week.
(As an aside, one person on the Auburn beat called the Auburn football offices yesterday to ask a recruiting guy there if he had seen Lane Kiffin there. He was following up on a rumor, he said, that Kiffin was IN AUBURN ON WEDNESDAY. I mean, come TF on. When that guy tells you he's on top of the search...)
Anyway, at this point, my expectation is Kiffin would likely accept Auburn's offer. Why? NIL. Simple as that. Kiffin believes Auburn has the NIL in place to be competitive and he thinks that in today's college football, that is the No. 1 thing (and maybe the only thing) that matters. He is concerned, per sources, that Ole Miss is so behind on NIL that not only will be it difficult to land players in a very competitive and expensive environment (including the portal) but that it will also be difficult to prevent his players from being poached.
Per my understanding, as of late yesterday, Ole Miss and Kiffin had not discussed his future here. A year ago, Ole Miss was pretty proactive, concerned Kiffin could be targeted by Florida, and got ahead of it. This year, that hasn't happened, at least not per a source this morning. The expectation at Ole Miss is if Kiffin is offered, Ole Miss will be given an opportunity to counter. I have no reason to doubt that. As I've said all along, Kiffin is getting a raise soon, one way or the other. Ole Miss can and will go as high as $10 million per year, per sourcing.
So again, as of this moment, Kiffin does not have an offer from Auburn. I do expect Auburn will choose Kiffin over Freeze (Freeze does also, per sources) and, as I said earlier in the week, Auburn is a very real threat as it pertains to Kiffin's future at Ole Miss.
More when I get it.

One common theme in all of this that I wasn't expecting was how deep out NIL is.

I don’t know how exaggerated our NIL has been up to this point by the media, but if the perception is there and it works in bringing in Kiffin, then I’m all for it.
Bruce and Harsin have lost several recruits over NIL.

You need to take that to the rant since all I have heard is how Ole Miss has as much in NIL as Auburn does and they just won’t say how much because “its better for it to be a secret”

Now that Neal has wrote that piece I question whether Neal is trying to stir up a late rally in NIL contribution and assurances.

There’s no way someone hasn’t already been offered. Cohen wants to get this done and announced by next weekend for early signing day.

Austudent just posted Dabo is the front runner. I am assuming that is the old Austudent.

I'd like to see the numbers from Auburn's NIL increase over the last three weeks. It's gotta be insane.

I know we stumbled early on. Wondering if that has changed for Bruce in recent recruiting battles. I haven't looked at our BB recruiting so not sure what it's looking like.
Seeing we have one commit so far. Too early to tell? Do we have any projections?

Anyone saying that is 100% trolling and being an instigator. I'm not sure anyone knows for sure what any school has in their collective.
If I had to guess, though, I'd say Auburn has more just due to the amount of donors. I know the student body size at each school is about the same, but the support for the football program swings way in the favor of Auburn. Just look at the size difference of the stadiums. Interms of the athletic department spending, Auburn spent a little over $133MM in 2020-2021 fiscal year while OM spent about $109MM. So Auburn is spending nearly $25 million more than Ole Miss.
(These numbers are based on just a quick Google search of each school's athletic budgets.)
