That's exactly what I saw.

I thought I saw something similar. Freeze would be cheaper

If we miss on Lane, I would take Dykes as the backup. What he is doing at TCU is impressive.

Small sample size with someone else’s players.

Dykes has not historically been a top tier coach. I find it hard to believe that he’d be able to turn Auburn around with any urgency.

I disagree. He did well at LA Tech, Cal, and SMU for what those programs are.

At the tailgate yesterday, I was surprised by at some of the arguments I heard for various HC prospects. I talked to quite a number of folks, but the strangest one to me was the push for Muschamp.

I heard the story reiterated of Napier calling Muschamp to ask about the AU job. Will guaranteed that a coach could win a Nat'l champ @ AU and he needed to talk to 5 people to get them on the same page. Supposedly AG wouldn't get Napier in contact with the 5 guys.

But the narrative on Muschamp was he knows AU landscape and knows who he needs to win. My take is that Muschamp proved himself a loser twice. Am I overselling his failures or could he get it done?

That’s a PAM story.

Pam also said Gus himself squashed the Steele hire.

Boom is a good DC but until he can prove he can coexist with a good modern offense, nah

He's 81-63 overall (according to Wikipedia). That's far from impressive.

If Muschamp hasn't done enough to prove he isn't head coach material then anybody with a heartbeat is head coaching material.

This is interesting.

Why would Pruitt be in Auburn last night?

Muschamp would be a good head coach if he wasn’t a destroyer of offenses…something about him repels offensive competency.

I can totally see someone like Mark Stoops or Muschamp being hired.

If we hire Muschamp and not Coach Lac… yeah don’t even present me with this potential situation.

There's alot of opinions regarding Kiffin, but i'm trying to understand the OM POV:

Ole Miss fans think that he won't leave, that he's already building a good program in Oxford and that a move (to let's say us) would just be a mis-step in his career. (I might try to get into the OM board just to see what they think about this)

I think i'm on the ballpark

If Cohen is all about morals and his speech about finding someone that's a good fit for Auburn (versus how Leach was the right fit for State) then there is no telling who he has in mind.

The last 2 coaches were offensive minded coaches and all you ever hear about Auburn football is Running the Ball and defense (especially the DLine). So if he goes back to Auburn roots then idk who is on his list fits that. Plus fits in the Auburn culture.

I say that because they'd be safe and cheap. By safe I mean they'd have winning seasons, decent recruiting classes and wouldn't embarass the program. Harsin and Gus cost us a lot of money.

They better be paying AU & still I'm not sure it's cheap enough.
