You mean bereal not tiktok not snapchat not instagram not facebook not myspace not aim--it's just a cycle that will never end. Always something new to get on.
Of these I think bereal is the least intrusive as you are only allowed one post per day that is a front facing camera shot and back camera shot with your text

Oh believe me I know... I'll be hanging out with my GF and her friends. "It's bereal time!!" They all get on either side of the cameras and take bereals 1x1 all basically the same photo. It's only 1 photo per day but you have to post it when they tell you to... like you have to be on alert and ready to post at any time.

I think Kirby leaving for UGA would have been dependent on how well we were set up at that point. Would have been after year 2 right? If he had been two full recruiting cycles in with increasing success he might have been too dug in

Weird thing is that Kirby probably would have gone like 6-6 with the 2013 team.

Probably wouldn’t have signed Nick out of JUCO either.

I don't hate the Gus over Kirby move in 2013. 2020 Gus was not 2012/2013 Gus. Guy was the hottest name in CFB. He could have walked into any QB's house and they would have listened. It wasn't our fault he didn't have Saban type program management skills. I can see a situation where Gus finally sees his mistakes and is at another big program.

Yeah I think you're right on all that. It just does sting a little in retrospect knowing the reason we ended up not offering Kirby the job was because he wanted to finish out one more game at Bama and thus wondering what could have been.

Eh, I think that was just the rationalization of picking Gustav over Kirb. At the time I remember hearing that he wanted complete Saban-like control and our AD/boosters weren’t willing to go along with that. Who knows.

That was message board BS. We wanted him ASAP. He wanted to coach the NC game.

Then would have left us for Georgia but likely left us in a good spot

I mean, you're over-dramatizing here in my opinion. When we hired Gus in 2013 he was coming off a "good" season as Arkansas State's HC wherein he basically inherited Freeze's finished product, but the year before that he was the OC of the highly disappointing 2011 Auburn team that finished in the bottom half nationally in scoring offense.

He left Auburn for Arky State because he saw the writing on the wall after 2011. Had he stayed, he would have had to deal with Kiehl Frazier at QB in 2012 which would have further tarnished his "offensive genius" reputation. I don't think he was as universally regarded as you claim him to be, considering that his tenure at Auburn basically just included 2010 with Cam Newton, and 2009 wherein he had a Mike Leech QB (Chris Todd). That 2009 team was highly improved over the shite-show that was 2008, but offensively they were stopped by basically every good team we faced. Then in 2011 we put up a below-average offense under Malzahn.

Comparatively, Kirby Smart had been Alabama's DC for 5 years of pure dominance at that point in time. He was also one of the best recruiters in the country (better than Malzahn).

It's funny that Kiffin won't leave Ole Miss for AU, but Kirby would leave Auburn for uga.

Coaches don't leave Auburn, I'm not saying it wouldn't happen, I'm just saying it hasn't. And whatever uga would bring, AU would match.

It’s a little different because UGA is Kirby’s alma mater so that’s why we are assuming he would have left to go “home”

Though you bring up a good point about coaches not leaving AU. History definitely supports that.

And you don't see in any way why these are different and ridiculous comparison to make?

Probably speaks more to the coaches we've had than about Auburn.

He may have been overrated, but he was definitely rated high after the 2013 season.

If true, that was very stupid of us, not to allow that.

The fact that several people on here think Lane wouldn’t come makes me think more so that we could get him lol. It’s never anybody we have mentioned tho, or anyone we really think. So bet on the long odds guys.

Normally I would say no chance but we can't afford to gamble. Coming off a 6 win season looking down the barrel of a 5 win season depleted roster shite recruiting for the last 2-3 years. We're in no position to try and get cute with this hire. Said it before but if we end up with someone like Grimes it's because the hanful of "big names" said no.

Kiff is a pipe dream. Outside of the length of contract issue,

Have you seen his presser's lately? He's absolutely bored and frustrated with OM and the fanbase or lack thereof. He would jump ship at any opportunity bigger than OM but still in the SEC. The only caveat to that is if his agent tells him to re-negotiate a new deal there and stay put until Bama opens up. Tenn is locked up, same for UGA. Napier is on a 7 year deal. Jimbo and Bryan Kelly's deals are huge. This honestly could be Kiffin's last chance to get out of Ole Miss
