Seeing the turn over we've gone through think we're going to Jimbo contract someone "if" it's the guy they want.

Any candidate worth a dman would be stupid not to want a long term deal with our known PTB
Ummmm...... going all the way back to Pat Dye, name one splash hire we've made. Dye was hired from Wyoming..

There's something in the water at Auburn, that makes our decision makers go after up and comers. I don't trust anything I read from people posting things about "things they heard". Show me one post, that mentioned Harsin before he was announced. As for the AD, I suspect nothing will happen before the new AD is hired. The true people in power, need a scapegoat if it falls off the cliff, just like it did with Harsin. There is no way anyone can convince me, the sole decision to make that hire, was placed at Greene's feet. Hell Malzahn was hired by a committee, and we had a long-term AD at the time. Wonder why that was? We have a massive booster problem, and I'm sad to say, it's not going anywhere.

I can tell you everyone knew Gus would be the next coach when the committee was put together in 2012.

I’ve told you the order that is out there believe it or not I don’t give a shite

Lane
Prime
Grimes
Freeze

In that order. Those are the only for sure calls that will be made. Grimes and Freeze are the backups to Lane and Deion. Hartwell may change the order or introduce another name but as of now that is the early list by those that will have a say

Where was your inside information when Harsin was hired?

Lane
Doesn't surprise me.

Prime
This would be the most massive risk, in the history of college football. I do not believe for a second, the people who have made, and kept, a fortune, are willing to take that risk. Especially, after paying Harsin $15 million for him to get the Hell out of Aubburn. If you don't think they have PR consultants on the ready, examining every possible backlash scenario, then we are running rudderless in a hurricane. Think we are in a PR nightmare now, what if Sanders is hired, fails miserably, and blames the administration? You think the guys like Rane, worth a billion dollars, haven't thought about this?

quote:

Grimes
Freeze
These two names make a lot more sense. Grimes especially, since we seem to have this thing for hiring people with some kind of tie to Auburn. At the end, of the day, I'm thinking Freeze will be the guy. Not sure Grimes would accept, and Freeze certainly would.

There was no inside info on Harsin that’s why ADAG is gone now. He went on his own.

Like I said don’t give a shite who believes what I post or not. Or if they agree or not.

Hmmm LCT and corchjay hear the same things. Think we are both just full of shite? It’s ain’t like the Auburn athletic department is Fort Knox. Stuff comes out of there all the time especially in situations like this.

Let me correct that LCT and I are hearing the same time line and leader for the AD job and Rich’s opportunity after the AD.

I’m assuming LCT possibly could be hearing the same names for the coaching search but I’m asking him now who he’s heard.

I have no reason to doubt that LCT and Corch may hear things, it may not always be completely accurate in the end, it may be smoke people put out there....who knows. To think Greene didn't do the Harsin hire now would be naive. The guy who made the hire is gone, the guy who hired the guy who hired Harsin is gone. Harsin has never had much, if any, support. That evidence points to Corch having been right. People might consider your opinions if you didn't act like they are retards for not taking what you say and think as the gospel. Kinda makes you look like a troll.

I heard Phillip Lolley has approached the PTB about the interim coaching job.

I’m not sure if this has been discussed. Since of the coaches are Harsin’s guys, if we fire hm, have we considered the possibility that they all walk with him, leaving us with very few coaches on staff? I know it’s a reach, people have bills and all that. But, if they’re all getting buyouts too, and they feel that they weren’t given the proper chance, would they leave when he did, out of loyalty?

So, let's say that Harsin doesn't get fired till after the Ole Miss game (bye week follows that game). Once that domino falls, I'd expect about two weeks before Hartwell is hired. Just to let both moves have their time to breathe. That then gives your new AD the opportunity to come in and make the HC hire fairly shortly after he starts.
itd be just like Harsin to go out and beat UGa and Ole Kiff just to frick up our timeline

That’s actually why Hoke is saying he has heard that Bryan Harsin won’t be fired until the end of the season.

You don’t get a buyout if you leave on your own

I heard Senator Tubs would helicopter in on game day to coach the rest of the season.

You said it, people have bills. They'd lose any means of paying theirs if they quit on their own

I have traditionally liked Hoke, but lately his info seems very questionable. He may be right on the timeline.

The coaching list seems like a joke and merely regurgitating back what subscribers want to hear. I do not think there is any groundswell in the booster class to hire Deion. I think Hoke is just sticking that in there with vague insinuations to keep the interest up.

And they’d lose any chance of future employment if they just showed up for the paycheck but didn’t do any actual coaching.

Dozens of HCs have gotten the axe/quit midseason without their loyal staff members following them out the door - even at AU in ‘98, when Jimbo stepped up to OC after his mentor resigned.

These coaches would probably be wise to start distancing themselves from Harsin for the sake of their long term career

The thing about axing Harsin now is he would still be owed the buyout for this year right?
