That’s the only rebuttal I have as well. Social media conduct is a fair criticism

Maybe he just has the vid.

Also posting a clock by itself isn't a full indication he won't be there--it's also New Years

I would take Schwartz back next year, but he is in no way a deal breaker for this team

Pretty much where I'm at. Seems to me every WR on the team would be excited about the possibility of getting to learn under a new WR coach in an offense that doesn't have an elementary, at best, route tree.

But what do I know.

I normally wouldn't advocate for us to pass on a bowl game, but this year we should have.

It's past time to cut this trash out. As a member of the SEC you are obligated to accept Bowl Bids and TV appearances. That cash affects the entire league. If I'm correct, there is a hefty fine for any team that attempts to bow out. Auburn will be there when the teams are due to arrive.

We replaced our head coach and are only getting like 5 days of additional practices instead of the usual month of bowl prep.

Still a good opportunity for Harsin to observe both the players and current staff. Are we sure we aren't taking the full bowl practices though? We also get a chance to give some of the younger guys opportunities as well

I would imagine this year would be very different from years past. Again, what happened to the bowl payout from the MCB? The game isn't happening, are they still on the hook to the SEC? I wouldn't think so since it's the SEC participant's 'fault' that the game was canceled.

Did LSU get fined for opting out? If so, I haven't heard about it.

Kevin Steele in an article

Auburn players have not practiced since the victory over Mississippi State on Dec. 12. Northwestern, meanwhile, played in the Big Ten Championship Game on Dec. 19 and practiced on campus last week.

“The biggest challenge is we have to be very focused and make sure we get quality reps,” Steele said. “That’s not unusual, but it’s even more pressing now. Basically, they have had two weeks of practice we have not had. The bowl schedule was set to come back the 26th. We couldn’t make it work sending them home, getting them back and getting the COVID testing.”

Fitting that a University with one of the best journalism schools in the country kicks our arse after how terrible our "journalists" were during the coaching search.

Although there might be more than a few who want to show out for the new coach.

Plus getting a chance to see the field can be powerful motivator if there was no way there before.

And there's also Seniors who might be tired of a lack luster bowl career or want to go out on a more positive note.

I would imagine, that LSU opting out could well result in not getting all of their share of the conference payouts after the Bowl Games and TV cash.

In a league that ups the fines for "allowing" fans to rush the field after each occurrence ... this year could be handled differently ....But I don't count on it at all.

It's a fricking exhibition game in a season that doesn't fricking matter.

Who the frick cares? Besides you apparently.

LSU didn't opt out.

They self-imposed a postseason ban for Odell Beckham handing out cash after the NC game last season.

Not to mention there is still a very real chance the game will get canceled,

I don’t think they are canceling anything in FL

Our players left campus on 12/13.

They returned on 12/26 and began COVID testing.

They practiced last night (12/27) for the first time since Miss St prep.

I imagine the team will travel to Orlando on Wednesday (12/30). They will probably have a couple of walk throughs in Orlando.

So based on all that, we are looking at like 5 bowl practices. All of which will go towards game prep, nothing for the youngsters (no time for them). It doesn't hurt for Harsin to observe 5 practices, but it doesn't give him much to go on either.

This whole bowl game this year is horseshite and as others have said NW is probably gonna rough us up.

Only way to look at it as a fan.

I think it still has some optical impact on recruiting. How much is debatable.
