He is scared of the middle. Where are all of these TEs we have heard about the past few years?

And any pass over 10 yards.

We are throwing down the feild much less. Gus would be taking many more deeps shots.

So we teams will see this and sit on the short passing game. This is what is making it difficult to run the ball too. All the defense will be near the LOS daring us to throw it behind them. And we can't or won't do it.

Gotta have protection to get the ball down field unless you are just throwing it up for grabs. Maybe some consistency on the OL in protection and we will see a few more downfield throws.

However wasn’t the argument just last year not enough easy throws and intermediate throws and to many downfield throws? Y’all’s bitching about play calling boggles the mind sometimes. It must be hard twisting yourself into the hypocrisy some of y’all seem to have.

Here’s a corral nix stat for you. Corral 1-2 Nix 2-1. Which do you prefer?

No the argument was we just throw screens and deep shots. Now the offense has regressed to just throwing screens. You did look at the chart right?

We can't blame everything on the line. Bo has plenty of time to throw a short post in the middle of the field.

I’m not sure at this point with how the box is stacked that I want an inconsistent Bo throwing over the short or intermediate middle. If we can get a WR on a fly or post on one of the hashes 1 on 1 with a safety sure but those are easier said then done.

First things first is we need more first downs. That is the first priority this offense should be looking at picking up first downs.

Some of that falls on Bo some on other factors. Bo needs to be hitting around 62-65 percent of his passes and could do that if he just hit the easier throws

Brannigan what do you consider an intermediate route? Most consider an intermediate route 5ish-15ish yards. Short is less then 5... over 15 is considered a “deep” throw.

Here’s you a drill go out in an open field throw a 20 yard comeback to the sideline essentially a 15 yard throw. And anywhere from 20-25 yards to the sideline and tell me if that is a long throw?

The one thing that I do find interesting that should be pointed out is throws to the right an how much more inaccurate Bo is. Remember he drifts and slides right as well. Meaning he isn’t as accurate as he thinks he is on the move. Could offer some good teaching advice to him. I don’t mind his scrambling right. Just the leaking and sliding right I don’t like. However I have see. Some slide protection to the right as well not many but some

Literally means nothing. Both beat Kentucky. If we had Ole Miss' schedule we'd be 1-2 also.

Guess we will just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

PFF ranks Bo at 10 in the conference and most of the negative his his abilities outside the pocket as I mentioned in a previous post.

No quarterback has bailed on the pocket more this season than Nix. He has ended up outside the pocket on 24% of his dropbacks (excluding rollouts), the highest in the SEC and 13 percentage points higher than the conference average. A lot of this has stemmed from poor pass protection up front, but regardless Nix has handled it poorly. He has earned a 46.8 passing grade and averaged 3.7 yards per attempts on such throws.

On the bright side, Nix has earned a 90.6 passing grade on true dropbacks (i.e. in the pocket, no play-action, RPO, quick throw or screen), the third-best in the SEC. Last year, he had the third-worst grade in the conference on those plays. He’s not making bad decisions from the pocket like we routinely saw him do in his 2019 true freshman campaign, so there’s some reason for hope that we have yet to see the best of Nix.

Bo is definitely not scared of the middle. That's his favorite place to throw it but you have to have protection and open receivers.

Gus is scared of the middle. But then again, we did watch JJ throw it straight at a Jacksonville State linebacker’s chest.

Oh lord.

Now is the part where Corch tells us he expected 6-4 so we should all be happy because we still have a chance to meet his low expectations.

nope have always said my expectations are 8-2/7-3. I still stand by that.

Will also add that nothing would surprise me this year for any team. Only team I have confidence is would be UGa because defense always can carry a team.
