Harsin must have come in all tough talk and "we're going to be giving A-effort from here on out" type stuff. Players (esp. defense) probably felt like they had been giving 100%.

It sucks that Malzahn's incompetence ended up having that effect on them.

I don't blame Harsin at all. Gus is just the gift that will keep on giving for a season.

Honestly, I’m taking this all as a good thing. I know the downvotes will come, but we need to clean up our culture. Not to compare, but remember Alabama had a big purge of players and it’s was a huge positive for them. Let’s hope this is the same thing and will lead us to success. For kids who actually want to dominate and not just come in and demand to start. More than anything truly love Auburn and want to elevate our program.

Really makes me wonder if certain bitter coaches are wispering in their ear.

Maybe they want to go to Jackson State and play for Prime Time.

I think the ones that don't want to work as hard as CBH is demanding need to go. Not a problem with theses 2

Not surprising. Players really connect with their coaches I think more than some surmise. Now that the whole staff is gone, it's no surprise some will transfer out.

It's all good. AU will survive.

Sounds like some of these players are figuring out the good time gang shite is about to be over with and we are about to get serious about winning again

I agree, I just hope we don’t have La-Monroe in the schedule next year

I think we can all agree Big Kat never lived up to the hype so it's not like a difference maker is leaving. But, he has played a lot of ball man. Newkirk, I thought had some potential, but losing him hurts our depth big time.

I expected some growing pains this time around, but this transfer portal deal is a whole different animal than when we changed coaches last time around. There was talent on the team Gus took over. There was talent on the team when Gus was shite canned. At the rate they're dropping now though, the next 2-3 years could get really dicey.

Hope Coach Harsin and his plan to get some talent on campus pans out, because this is some uncharted territory that he will be dealing with.

It will. AU can recruit 3 stars not even trying whereas Harsin had to try pretty hard at Boise to get them. If he got even a single 4 star it was a big deal at Boise.

He will have no trouble getting bodies in there that hopefully can be coached up. I think he will be kinda like Tubs finding diamonds in the rough. That's what he had to do at Boise.

I am sure he'll hit the portal to fill our immediate needs as well.

It's gonna take a while for the 4 and 5 stars to come though. But if he's as serious about it as he seems, he will land his share.

Does anyone think with a new coaching staff that Big Kat or Newkirk was holding off Derrick Hall or Walker/Hunter on the DL next year. Plus I think the Buck position now will be called the Stud position and be more flexible under Mason. Not just edge rushing every play but handling coverage duties and other things.

I wish them the best. They went out with class and didn't bash anyone so good luck to them plus they have their degrees

This and this, thanks coach. Hall stays in the buck/stud position. Wooden moves to his natural position at SDE, Walker/Hunter/Hardy step up inside, and the two JC transfers are healthy and stronger.

This does not hurt us much. BUT, if I can get back to beating my dead horse, can we get on the phone and beg MAR to reconsider?

. . . after putting in 16+ years. It's understandable they're ready for a job and their next big step.

Good Luck

Surprised BKB left, but he gave us 4 years, got his degree and I will support him wherever he goes. Hope it clicks for him.

Newkirk, no comment.
