Also I would say of the current roster that Williams and Cambridge would be primary scorers. Along with Flannigan as the bench scorer. The true freshmen we will just have to see how they handle the physicality and the big stage.

That doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies.

Since the higher expectations on the program this will probably be the transition year unless someone just really stands out that is unexpected. That's my opinion obviously. We rode the vets hard last year and didn't develop many younger player because almost every game basically was wire to wire. Great season because we won almost all the close games but crushed development of the freshmen. They will be better but they aren't really leaders yet. That's why Bruce wants a solid scoring GT that can bring some leadership in to guide the team. But unless we have a mass exodus of players turning pro earlier then expected we should be fine after this year. The roster will be stacked and I expect Bruce to try to balance out the recruiting where we don't have huge classes and then only one person in the next class. I expect next years class to be 3-4 players.

Give me JD, Jabari Smith, and Chance Moore and call it a day!!!!

Edit - Wanted to add if Bruce leads this team to top 4 SEC he's the best coach in the country!!! just sayin

Keith interviewed him a week or so ago & Chance said he hasn't heard from AU in months.

If we are taking a 2 guard in that class then we have others higher on the board.

JD > Cooper

People said the same thing with Mitchell and Harper. Harper was going to be coming off the bench by Christmas. We see how that turned out. Also just because someone has more NBA upside doesn't mean they will be a better or more valuable collegiate player. It's a different game. I personally believe Cooper will have a greater impact on this level.

We also offered premier 2023 post player Gus Yalden. He goes by the name Gusbus. A natural fit, really.

Some recruiting nuggets from JHead & Jolivesr from the bunker

-Feels real good where AU stands with 5* Jabari Smith
-Thinks Mike Miller leaving Memphis puts us in an excellent spot with JD Davison & put us in the driver's seat
-G League doesn't have much interest in them for next year as of now (Not sure I'm buying that)

Disagree. Cooper may be more polished but JD is more athletic and has a higher upside.

Cooper reminds me a lot of Trae Young. Limited size and athleticism but amazing feel for the game

Don't know the 1st thing about Trae Young but agree on the attributes of Cooper.

Guess I shouldn't have said in every way as Davison clearly has higher long term potential but just looking at college career potential, I'd rank Cooper much higher.

Has Davison given any indication when(summer, fall, etc) he wants to announce his final commitment?
I know he gave his top 10 last month. I guess he will give his top 5 maybe at some time, too...
