Abdul's brother Abidi, who we saw play in the Monmouth game, leads them in scoring at 22 points a game. He is 39% from the field, 91% ft and 40% 3pt range.

Why did Abdul end up at juco?
Posted on 2/7/25 at 6:57 am to jangalang
Think he’s a late bloomer.

I expect we probably land both but moving from Juco to SEC is gonna take some time. Heck it’s taken a bit for most of our guys to move from the G5 to SEC. Even Broome and Denver.
Exciting smaller guards tho

Thought they were both CBM type guys. 6’7 shooters

I think he probably just meant by his Broome comparison as far as JUCO to here and being a late bloomer, not that he’d be the next Broome as far as position.
Yea, he would be in the CBM role I would believe.

I was mistaken I thought Abidi was like 6’1”. Good to see Bruce is starting to lean on the length at the guard spots. However I guess both being 6’7” they would be wing guards playing the 2/3 spots.
I assume Magwood will move to true PG at AU behind Denver and Pettiford. With all 3 playing some minutes at the 2. That’s with the assumption that Denver returns for the Juco rule. Same with CBM. They should be able to make more at AU than the G-League or overseas. But donors have to step up on the basketball side to hold all these guys next season. Still need a shot blocking Big as well. Probably need a 4 with some experience to go along with freshman Williams-Adams.

I have no clue but signing the brothers to play the wing spots may be a look into the future for Jakhi. Or at least a backup plan at minimum

Gonna need at least two bigs for the 5 since we have nobody after this year, and at least one decent 4 transfer to go with Williams-Adams for sure like you mentioned.
We should be in really good shape at the #1 and #2 spots if Denver comes back even without adding anyone.
Hopefully we have a final four run and drive up the big donor interest so we can fill all our needs.
And yeah, if Abdul comes in and CBM comes back you have to think Howard is gone.

Isn’t Addarian Scott supposed to play the 5? That’s why I specified we need a big shot blocker for the 5 because I don’t think Scott will be a consistent shot blocker.

The guard spots are looking really crowded if we bring in both brothers. I have no idea how they would split those minutes up.. and not sure someone won't just transfer or decommit.
PG-- Pettiford-Denver- Magwood
SG-- Denver*-Pettiford*- Bashir brothers- Simon Walker
SF--CBM-Howard-Bashir brothers
PF---?-Williams Adams
C--?- Scott
* means Denver or Pettiford could also play some 2. That's a super crowded 1-3 spots. Finding a legit starting PF and C are by far the two biggest needs, even over the Bashir brothers imo.. Doubt we hear much about these spots for a while though just because they will have to be transfers.

Scott is a senior, and beyond that was added as a last second let's pick him up as an oh crap all our bigs are injured depth piece back when we had him transfer in. He didn't even play when Broome was out and Cardwell could barely stay in due to cramps, and is basically only on the court with the walk ons at this point.
We are going to need one big Broome style transfer at the 5 and another Cardwell style transfer guy who can come in and give use 15 minutes or so as backup. We have nothing coming back at the 5 next year.
