I just don’t know how we beat any of the teams ahead on our schedule in the next 3 weeks sans LSWho unless one of our guys gets hot during that time, without Broome on the floor.

Jesus Christ dude…

Human performance varies.

We held them scoreless the last 5 minutes of game time.

I wish we would win all sportsball games by 40, but the other teams have paid coaches and players.

Maybe we will see some lineups with Denver, Pettiford, Kelly, Cardwell, CBM
With Jakhi getting sub minutes for CBM and Kelly. Obviously Chaney will need to play more and foul less. J’heim/Moore will play a little more.

We are better with Broome, but we can win some games without him. Hopefully JB is back sooner rather than later.

If he misses the next 4.. gotta beat LSU and then win one of the other 3. 2-2 is fine. 3-1 or better would be a huge boost. A lot depends on how Chaney and Cardwell adjust and step up to the plate.

To your questions I would say today’s performance with Broome was our worst of the season. A lot of it was on Broome just not bringing it on either end. His focus and intensity wasn’t there. SC didn’t do anything special on him defensively, he was missing easy looks in 1 on 1 situations and/or forcing awful shots. He’s too good of a player not get back to himself though. I will say his defense in the second half was definitely looking better before the injury

I continue to be happy with the Missouri and Texas wins so I don’t see the same “trend” you and Jang are seeing

I don’t blame you, but our Mods should have smelled the alter all over you when you joined right after we lost to Yale and started posting all the debbie downer shite. That being said enjoy the downvotes and the STFU replies in the future.

And again, I want to hear a valid argument how we almost lost to one of the worst teams in the conference who was playing without two of their starters and only 6 of their players played more than 10 minutes with Broome playing the majority of the game? Please someone explain to me how that doesn’t concern you for the near future?
Jesus. It’s college basketball. Even the best teams of all time struggle with inferior opponents and lose games. We are a very good team but not perfect by any means. Just win games and add to our already outstanding resume.

They sky is falling routine after close road games in college basketball is insane and shows you either 1) don’t know anything about college basketball or 2) just want to be miserable and just a drama queen.

We are going to lose games. It’s basketball

Broome was bad when he was out there yesterday. He got worked over and over on D and was forcing shots on O. It was kinda odd to watch.

While he's out, I think you plug Pettiford in at the 1 and just move everyone down a spot.

Going to be interesting to watch. We are going to have to team rebound.

Hudson likely will have to play a little more. Howard too. Chaney gonna have to stay out of foul trouble.

I’ve personally dealt with ankle sprains in my past and it usually took about a month to fully recover.

Here we go again.

I've dealt with them and they've taken 5 min. to recover. You, nor I, have any idea how bad his is or how long it will take him to recover. You literally just did this with the shoulder thing like two weeks ago and here you are again doom casting worst case scenario based on absolutely nothing.

Also, yes clearly we aren't playing as well as we were in November and December. We were never going to continue to be that dominant. Are we going some all time great team? No. Can we still make a deep tournament run if we stay healthy and peak/get hot at the right time? Absolutely. Conference play was always going to be a grind and it has been so far.

I also think teams are taking Broome out of our offense and making others beat them

I don't know if it is what other teams are doing or just him being too comfortable catching the ball way too far from the goal or not being aggressive/patient enough to get better shots. He's forced some terrible shots the last couple of games. Hopefully this injury will give him a chance to reset.

Duke was up single digits late at home vs a below-500 notre dame team… needed 40 from Flagg to win. Current #1 Tennessee looked worse in Austin than we did… trailed for most of the game.

It’s basketball… let’s see how this team responds to broom being out… we haven’t played a ‘good’ team at home all yr.

As for my lineup

Biggest problem I see with your lineup, and with this team in general, is that we don't have a guard that can consistently iso and get penetration for the kickouts you're looking for. Same problem we've had for like 5 years now.

Pettiford is great in iso at getting to the spots he wants to but yeah.. he’s always looking to score. Which is fine because he’s good at it but not ideal. He’s at least good at finding open rollers under the rim though

I’m a fan of trying the small lineups with CBM at the 4 in spurts but would get overexposed in too many minutes. Chaney at the 4 and Cardwell at the 5 should get the bulk.. but as we all know they are going to have to adjust.

Gotta get 28-30 minutes out of Cardwell somehow

This is true. Pettiford did it once yesterday. He can do it if he wants. He really just looks to create for himself though. If he can flip that switch it will make a big difference in our offense.

It's going to be interesting to watch.

Come Monday we are the #1 team in the nation. 1st in SEC.

The sky screaming is glorious to watch. It’s a trait all people have….I want more, more, more….

Enjoy the team that is obviously really good and better than just 1 player. As Bruce said, we will lose some games in SEC season. Broome down will probably make this team better by end of year. Looking forward to see what kind of lineup we go with. Who steps up…

This. We are most likely going to be #1 tomorrow and we have earned it with our play on the court. Road wins are hard and back to back road games are even harder. Broome will be back by Tennessee. Teams have peaks and valleys during the season. We're in a valley right now but we're still stacking wins and i for one am going to enjoy it

It’s so obvious at times like these the people who just don’t understand basketball.

I have told everyone all year to expect a slump at some point. It happens every year to every team in CBB.
