I was actually expecting Seth to be a little slower than that, good for him.

Agreed. So far, these sound like the first runs. Should be at least a second attempt

That's fast.

KJ just did 24 reps on bench.

I included KJ’s bench.

Also seeing Schwartz’s 40 time as 4.32. Not sure which is correct. Might be both, no idea yet.

Other notes — every NFL team but the Vikings and Texans are in attendance. Auburn also has some JSU and Troy players there. Cool move by Auburn

That is a great move by Auburn, especially with Covid as it limits travel of scouts. Would be great to see SEC schools allow smaller school kids to join the pro days.

Glad to see Bo Jackson’s 40 record safe for another year. Whew!

Former #Auburn WR Anthony Schwartz says he's gone over some film with Steelers personnel. Mike Tomlin was at Schwartz's pro day this morning, too. "It must mean something that the head man is here."

I'd imagine it is in Auburn's interest since it likely brings more scouts to our pro days. Also can't hurt to do a solid to the smaller schools

No wonder Tutt got burned so many times. bench press numbers are pretty low across the board too. Definitely time for a change in the S&C program if nothing more to bring in fresh blood.

I don't think Sherwood will play Safety in the NFL probably go to a team that plays a rover type system or safety/LB hybrid. Plus he is a tremendous tackler in the open field.

WR Anthony Schwartz
HT: 6000
WT: 186
Hand: 9 3/8
Arm: 31 4/8
Wing: 75 4/8
40: 4.26

These numbers and career receptions and yards are almost identical (minues TDs) as Ruggs coming out last year that was taken number 12 overall. Highest I've seen Flash is around the 18th WR in mock drafts. Speed don't lie and when the coaches start breaking down his film he will shoot up the draft boards. 13 WRs were taken in the first 2 rounds in 2020. I think I'll stick with my opinion that Schwartz will go in the first 2 rounds. Deep WR class this year though for sure.

Schwartz averaged 12.2 YPC and had 6(!) touchdowns on 117 catches

Ruggs averaged 17.5 YPC and had 24 TDs on 98 catches.

The two aren't even comparable.

Having watches Schwartz for 3 years, I wouldn't take him in the first 3 rounds. He's track fast but he is not quick at all and is very unimpactful for how fast he is.

The two aren’t comparable, because their situations aren’t comparable. Tua, Davante - Juedy and a dynamic offense, compared to Malzahn’s offense and playing opposite of Seth Williams.

I’m honestly not sure we can fairly judge what kind of receiver Schwartz might be.

Schwartz is ultra fast. Schwartz now has above average hands. Schwartz is the best route runner from last year.

Wasn't comparing Bama's offense to Auburn's I was comparing Schwartz numbers at pro Day to Ruggs. I threw the stats in to show that schwartz could put up numbers. Ruggs was probably the 3rd best WR on his team and went 12th overall even 2 spots ahead of Jeudy because you can't coach elite speed.

Wait, so Christian Tutt is going PRO after all?

Is this dude high?
quote:

Tutt made his return to Auburn on Thursday measuring 5-foot-10 and 1/4 inches and 180 pounds. He produced a 29.5-inch vertical leap, a 9-foot-2 broad jump and a 4.75 40-yard dash. He did participate in the bench press.
