As a Panther fan, I'm sick of how they handle these breakups. Cam, Steve Smith, Greg Olsen and others have kind of just been disrespected when the Panthers choose to move on. Hoping Cam is Comeback Player of the Year for someone else.

Cam to the Patriots would excite me very much.

Pats sign Hoyer again. Stidham already beat him out once. Pretty interesting move.

To be fair to the Panthers, Olsen and Smith were old and clearly past their prime. Jury is still out on Cam, but it’s a business. I personally believe they made the right move

He didn’t beat our hoyer... he was just cheaper and Brady almost never gets injured.

Crazy to think Stidham could be starting for the Pats next year.

Looks like Jarrett Stidham will be the starting QB for the winningest franchise in football.

If I were a Patriot fan, I would probably be very sad about our future.

As an Auburn fan, I am excited and hope they get good Stidham. Not the turnover tornado that lost to an awful Tennessee team at home.

excited for Stidham. Unless Pats draft someone, the job is his to lose.

“He came in and worked hard and got better and better as the year went on,” Gilmore said of Stidham. “He has a strong arm. He makes some tough throws. Definitely made it hard on me in practice each and every week, going against whoever I was covering, making some great throws. It allowed me to get better in practice to prepare for the games.”

This echoes remarks made by defensive captain Devin McCourty in the aftermath of Brady’s departure. But what a guy does in practice and what he does in games, obviously, is different. Still, we’re starting to hear why the Patriots organization believes in Stidham.

It could be one of the reasons why coach Bill Belichick didn’t do more to keep Brady around for a 21st season.

I read McCourty's comments last week and they were also encouraging. But... This is simply the "Patriot Way". Bill has everyone sharing the same, positive message regarding their current QB.

I think we all know how that is going to go. I mean they have to bring Brady back in after they took him out and JS Pick six'ed his first throw.

I will say it again. JS will never be a top level NFL QB. He just does not have the guts for it.

Even if he's an okay one, thats still a great career for a 4th round pick.

lol. What does guts got to do with it? Do you mean he is gun shy as a QB? Not sure of the use of your words.

Being a rookie, you have to let him find out if he can perform in a lot of NFL games.

It is just too early to say he never will be a top NFL QB after so little to see.

There are too many QBs out there that were 'sure fire' and didn't make it, and others that were 'I don't know' types and turned out to be great NFL QBs.

He's just afraid of the what-if's should Stidham perform.

I mean obviously they have SOME faith in Stidham. Cam is free for the taking right now and they didn't sign him. Andy Dalton could probably be traded for for a Burger King Whopper and they haven't done it. Unless you think they signed Hoyer to start, it seems as though they intend to let Jarrett have a shot (unless they draft someone)

Could be wrong but I think he's saying that JS can't stand in the pocket and take a hit to deliver it.

I do think its fair criticism BUT I don't think that his last year at Auburn can be used against him TOO much. The line was soooooooo bad that year. Like its comical to go back and watch how little time Jarrett actually got that year.

Totally agree. They didn’t sign Hoyer to start 16 games. If they intended to sign a starter via free agency, they would’ve signed a Dalton or a Phillip Rivers. Unless they move all the way up and draft either of Herbert, Tua, or Burrows, I can pretty much tell you Stidham is projected to be starter.
