Speaking of worst. How is glorified waterboy Dilly Dilly doing!
He def wasn't out worst (Look at the Tom Brady whisperer for that) but Dillingham is actually doing a pretty good job at FSU. We would kill to have his recruits right now.

Zak Hill WILL NOT be the guy. Its just a guessing game being played by the people who cover the team.

This is Bryan Harsins offense.. we aren't hiring someone in come in and install their system. We are looking for a recruiter and someone who can call plays. Everything else is secondary. Its going to be someone who is already familiar with the south because we can't afford to have an OC who has to build relationships. Harsin knows he doesn't have the time for that.

I'm not liking the Boise Boys club we got going on. I wouldn't like to see us get Zak Hill on that alone.

Two new OC names to watch added by Hokanson this morning:

Andy Ludwig - OC at Utah (he was Harsin's QB coach at Boise while he was a player there, was also OC at Vanderbilt under Mason)

Graham Harrell - Former OC at USC (won't be retained by Riley apparently and isn't expected to have HC offers yet, but he's seen as an up-and-comer)

Alpinetiger might be able to speak more intelligently about this guy, but Utah is a run heavy, play action offense.

Don't know why people don't get this. Typically when a CEO or CIO goes to a new place they tend to bring people they know in. Same thing in these cases with coaches. Because if they pick wrong or forced to have people work for them and it doesn't work out...then they end up paying sooner than later...Zak Hill or another spud gang member might be the ticket that Harsin trust (He was not bad when he was at Boise calling plays and coaching up QBs). Recruiting is the key and Harsin knows that. It just takes some time to work relationships.

he seems fine, but we need a recruiter more than anything. he doesn't really have ties to the southeast - vandy doesn't count lol

Which is why Zak Hill makes the most sense

Since when has Harsin showed that he cares about this?

I've been beating the Ludwig drum for a week now. He'd be a great hire IMO.

Fwiw… Ludwig’s offense under Mason was enough to make your eyes bleed.

Yall all these possibilities give me diarrhea. Why can’t we get a proven name?

Since the off season began. He's but a emphasis on it and is bringing in more people to help with recruiting.

Never meant to imply otherwise. There's just nothing that actually points in his direction. Our reporters we're wrong about the HC search, have had VERY little recruiting info, didn't know about Bobo being out before the announcement... but yet they are somehow going to have inside info on the OC search? Not Harsins style.

Maybe since he has seen firsthand you can’t win in this conference without it?

Fine, but what else would you expect from Vandy? His offenses at Utah have been great.

He emphasized recruiting not hiring recruiters[which is eerily similar to Mullen’s strategy.

Who broke the announcement? How can information be relayed before it happens? And yea, there was speculation.

And if it was Zak, what are you going to say? Dumb luck?

By hiring Mike Bobo, Derek Mason, Will Friend, Tracy Rocker, and Zac Etheridge, and retaining Cadillac Williams -- all guys who played in and/or recruited the SEC. In addition, Cornelius Williams, who was probably hired primarily for local recruiting connections.

Harsin very well might say "to hell with it" and hire someone like Zak, but he's shown a desire in the past to hire at least some regional experience. Does he feel like he has enough, on staff -- or do we go with another Southeast guy at OC?

I'm not sure how to call this one, just yet.
