I agree to a large extent. The NIL, our boosters and control of the program definitely complicated matters. A single unifying HC and his complete control over the inter workings is a must. Can AU achieve such? We haven’t been able to grasp that concept to date. It boils down to $. AU must now not only outbid everyone for a proven HC commodity but also provide for top tier players. TPTB are going to have to pull together, actually use their heads and do what’s best for the program. Not their egos.

If Harsin really stripped Mason of duties MSU game and has wanted him gone why didn't he push him to Notre Dame? That's not true, something recently changed and now Mason is taking whatever he can get to get out. I've read in many places that people don't leave bad jobs, they leave bad leadership. That seems to hold up here

Holy shite I could not hate these posters more.
It is unfathomable to me to suck that bad. Surely they can’t be real people.
AU 15-0 ship
You 3 suck majorly, you know who you are.

Cheerleading a losing cause since 2015 put us in this situation.... no need on doubling down on a bad ROI... get it together or get out of the cock pit....

Good! Ready to get back to aggressive Auburn defense, and not that prevent bullshite we saw all last season.

Too many hands dictating what the HC can do and hire...instead of butting out and letting the coach go at it and either succeed or fail. Same ole story that has been here before my time attending in the 80s
That is what I think as well. I think we are pretty clearly on a bad trend line, but if you hire a HC you have to let him run the program. If it does not work, we will be looking for a new one soon enough.
I think most fans are concerned about what is happening. Some are already at the point of wanting to pull the trigger, but that is just not realistic. Hopefully, the HC can get this program straightened out. If not, we hire someone else and honestly, the portal and NIL (things I am very wary of) make the idea of rebuilds seem less daunting than before.

27th in the nation in scoring defense
4th in SEC in yards per play.
Best performing unit on the team.
Are we now speculating that success was forced on Harsin?
And then there is this speculation going around the internet that we were trying to unseat the most successful coach on our roster right from underneath him

The most concerning thing of all, is that our OC/DC have zero SEC coaching experience, and the HC only has one year of SEC coaching experience.
We will see how it works out.

But they have experience. I don't get the new requirement of us needing coaches with "SEC experience"

I do hope the new DC likes to heat QB's up. I got tired of screaming "send pressure" at the t.v. every Saturday last fall. My voice was gone by the end of the State game.

Yea, our old OC had a ton of SEC experience and sucked. They either can do the job or they can't. We will know soon enough. Interested to see what the scheme we run is going forward.

Nailed it...
we gotta let Harsin do his thing. If it does not get better at least he tried it his way and I'm okay with that. I'm willing to take these lumps and bad press for the pay off of a better program. Yeah it's painful but I think we desperately needed a flush from the last staff and a fresh approach. I'm tired of the same old shite.
WDE!!!

I’d settle for an occasional upgrade every now and then. Is that too much to ask?

Yeah - With the first year staff from Boise, it is too much to ask.
