Would be a tough look for Harsin. I’ve backed him constantly but losing Mason to okie st for the same position would be hard to take

I can’t fathom that kind of move. Seems like he would leave for an NFL DC job or another HC position.

Leaving to be DC at Okie State? How does that help his resume?

Why would he leave for OSU?

We’ve had a lot of “strong candidates” for our DL coach.

If that’s true every rumor and bit of speculation about not wanting to coach with Harsin will be considered true by me

That’s a lateral downgrade..

I think y’all just want to melt. Until he actually leaves or we hear he’s leaving, this is a nothing burger.

Yeah this would not be a good look at all. And I say that as someone who isn't a fan of Masons def. Firing him is one thing, but losing him to OK St is another though.

Auburn defensive coordinator Derek Mason has emerged as a candidate for the same job at Oklahoma State, reports Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports. I'm told Mason and Harsin have not been on the same page lately with staffing and philosophy

Would be a blow at this point if this ends up happening, but I’m not gonna stress over a rumor.

I can imagine that conversation going hey we've got to get coaches in here so we stop losing recruits and players. Harsin taking his Boise time to make hires...

Not sure how Mason would be upset with all the defensive signees coming in. He’s got a lot of talent to work with. Most he’s ever had in his career.

It’s a message board. Of course that’s what I’m here for. Dramatic nonsense until it’s proven right or wrong.

OSU paid their last DC $800k. Mason makes $1.5 million at Auburn. FWIW

It is plausible that Mason wants to get out. The schedule sucks next year, and our talent will too. But, yes, rumors and speculation at this point. Nobody ever wants to say it’s possible, yet then a bad thing happens and then there will be a chorus of sourgrapes and “not surprised” responses.

So here is my too early not surprised response.
